The back is not doing it for me along with the front, but the side view looks just like the 996TT. Porsche will still sell a lot. The exhaust coming out of the read bumper is lame. Also, the interior has a dumb analog clock right in the center of the dash board. How stupid is that, like I want to look a clock on top of the dash. It looks like some designed just stuck a round clock where tuners would put an aftermarket tach, oil pressure or H2O temperature gauge.

No, I'm not "moved" by the appearance either. However, these look a little better than the previous shots. The specs are sounding awesome, though.
According to some that have recieved information form PCNA.....
Top track speed: 193mph
0-60 mph: 3.7 sec. manual/3.4 sec. Tiptronic S
50-75 mph: 3.8 maunal/3.5 Tiptronic S
Acceleration 1/4 mile: 11.8 sec. maunual/11.6 sec. Tiptronic S
If true, a stock tip 997TT will just about equal a RUF R Turbo or stage 4 in 1/4 mile acceleration.

What does anyone think about 0-60 in 3.4 - stock? Historically, Porsche times are right on for an average driver - without abusing the car or burning out. This is incredibly fast and is about the same as the Mclaren F1 (tested at 3.2, 3.4 depending on test). And after a few mods...with a clutch dump...will they break into the 2's? I know 0-60 isn't everything, but this car is going to feel incredible at take-off.

Dock,
I got the FEDEX package today and they state it in print. Porsche has never exaggerated these type of numbers before.
They also state 1/4 mile in 11.6 - stock. I don't think they would publish this without proper backup. If they did, they risk people wanting to return cars when they do not meet advertised/stated claims.
I think it is the broad, flat torque achieved by the VTG turbos. Porsche is possibly re-defining the status quo relative to 0-60 & 1/4 mile times.
Did you see the explanation of the VTG turbos in this video: Porsche 997TT introduction video It looks like clever engineering to me.
I wonder if this car will sound better on take-off, as it appears the vanes pull back to let the exhaust flow easily at low RPM's? This may eliminate the muffler effect of the standard turbo design.

Also, I wonder if the claimed 3.4 time is with or without the optional "overboost" turned on. You would think not, since no mention is made of purchasing the option to achieve these numbers. However, it is hard to imagine that a simple overboost option would improve on this number. Either way, Porsche in effect is claiming this car will be a rocket.

How can they be making it so cheap? $123k, I'm astounded. Comapre to anything else and it's the bargain of the century, never mind the Z06!
