Default My PSM & ABS brake lights come on when I drive fairly hard. Why & what can be done?

When I turn off the car and back on again, they go off. But is this normal? Is it just a sensor? Does it have to with me driving hard or the fact that I have 19" wheels on? Should I just ignore this? And is this recorded as an error every time it lights up? I just wonder this for warranty issues.

Do they come on while you are driving? If so, the system is protecting you. Not sure I understand the question.

Have that too when I'm for example driving at the Nürburgring. My mechanic told me not to worry about that...

I get the same thing, people have speculated its related to after market chip or flash (mine has been done), but I am thinking it is a glich in the stock system. I am wondering if the systems are disabled when the light comes on or is it showing a monemtary fault that has corrected itself based on the fact that mine always dissapear on restart as well?

Describe what you mean by "driving hard".

And what size tires are you running front and back?

It goes on after I push the gas pedal about 50%-flooring it. If I am just cruising it does not go on at all. My car is stock (so far). I am riding on 19"'s- cant recall the exact sizes.

girth - could it be that the traction control element of PSM is preventing the tires from spinning? With torque of your car that's likely. If you turn off PSM does the car spin and slide undere hard acceleration?

Aside to Pierre - I am not surprised

Oh! Then I'd say there's something wrong here.

Mine does that only under very hard conditions, like some special corners at the Nürburgring, especially when exiting the shaker - huh... Karussel.

Its not right! I had both ABS and PSM lights coming when a boost pipe came off. Its a kind of a CEL... Go to a dealer, the error will show up on the PST2.

Speed gallery told me to come in and they may have to reset it back to factory. I just have not gotten around to it since I just bought it and passed the PPI with flying colors.

When a fault is indicated, these systems are DISABLED!

Darn, I would like to at least have the abs still active in this condition. Last year I read a post that related the abs/psm to a fault cascade caused by a MAF going bad but not quite there yet, does not sound related to me?

If you disconnect the connector plug to the MAF and then start the car, you will trip those exact same lights. Just something to think about...

A bad MAF will trigger the PSM/ABS light.

It has happened to me a year ago when driving hard in a specific slidding track. PSM off. (Very short corners one just after the other virtually without any straight line ). After being sliding one corner after the other strongly for a while ALL THE LIGHTS went ON. I stopped the car, re-started again. Never happened again ! ( I attend about 7 track days per year).
