I think that you got soaked.. I'm sorry.. It is clear that Porsche is taking a different stance.. Some folks have received new gearboxes like Markski.. Reading this info, if someone has these issues, one can try to see if Porsche will replace it.. However, do not let them pull the tranny out of the vehicle.. Ask them to give you a worst case estimate.. If you are going to get stuck with the bill, I would take the vehicle to a independant Porsche shop and have them drop the tranny and send it to Brian or Chris for repair..

Mike, I feel for you! I am a 20+ year Porsche owner. I have owned 7 different Porsche models. My TT was the first Porsche I have owned that was under factory warranty. I am very unhappy with my dealership experience up to now. I might buy another Porsche, but I will never buy another one new! PCNA has lost it's focus and direction within the last decade. I will leave the dealer experience to the yuppies with their leased Cayannes (sp) and Caymans!

Given what our local Porsche rep has told me, any type of DE or autocross falls under the category of ‘beyond the control of Porsche Cars N.A.’

I couldn't tell from the photos what was purportedly abused but I would like to know how a defective tranny that had those problems would look? Wouldn't it look abused too? And, if it looked perfect, wouldn't it then be running perfectly?

I mean really, are they saying all defective parts look perfect?

I wonder if there is a law in California that prohibits dropping the warranty if the car is used in a way the manual prohibits unless the damage is directly related to the violation. I would think the burden would be on Porsche to prove that. Plus, I think their advertising is misleading.

The "To be driven on reasonable road surfaces within legal speed limits" covers Porsche in the event you go "off roading", and does not relate specifically to the "This Warranty Does Not Cover" items, of which "racing" and/or "tracking" are excluded from coverage.

Porsche does not sell the Turbo as a "track" or "racing" car.

Porsche didn't sell you a "race" car, or a "track" car, so never tell them that's how you've used the car in either of those ways if you expect to have a chance of warranty coverage.

There are plenty of people who enjoy the performance of their Porsches, yet never take them to the track. Those cars are far from "garage queens".

Dock, with due respect -- It is wholly impossible to exercise a 450HP car with PCCB’s legally in southern California without taking the car to a track. Is this disputable?
