Default Anybody know what this is??

I found this bolt under my engine today. It measures 6mm x 1/2 inch long. It has two "8" 's and an "A" on the cap. Don't like to find bolts under my baby!!

That bolt looks like one that is used to hold the turbocharger bracket to the engine bracket.. Similar bolts are used.. But that is definately one use..

Where would I look to see if this indeed is the missing bolt?

on the back side of the each turbo there are four bolts that attach to the exhuast system,
one of these bolts holds a heat shield also, the heat shield also attaches to another part
of the turbo (on the side of the turbo), it is here where this bolt might be missing.
this bolt faces out towards the side of your car but you need to be laying on ground to see it.

Coud also be one of the two bolts holding the metal shield covering the spark plugs .

The 8.8 on the head is the tensile rating....it is the metric equivalent of a grade 5 bolt.

Have you had your spark plugs replaced?

When they replaced the plugs they probabaly didn't fully tighten the shield over the coils. If the exhaust has been replaced it's probably from the turbo heat shield where it bolts into the aluminum part of the turbo..
