OK Tom...This is important. I have learned this lesson enough times for all of us. 1) You def. want to bed your Pagid Oranges properly....2) If you don't, your stering wheel will be juddering in your hand for the whole track day and you will hate it. 3) Bedding these suckers is not easy and it requires some finnesse 4) Even if you try to properly bed them, you still might end up with uneven pad deposition and a judder in the steering.
You need to do about 10-15 rolling stops. Get the car up to about 70-80 gently apply brakes with a consistent brake force....slow down to 5 mph and ease off......immediately repeat the process. This should do it.....
Also, when you take the track....gently warm them up....Do not jam on the brakes the first few laps.....
You are essentially applying a thin even film of brake pad material onto the rotors....If you just jump on the track and start lapping hard, you will be very unhappy with the results.
Good luck....Be safe....

Tom,
Check out this information www.stoptech.com, they have a bunch of good information on bedding in brakes etc... Look under technical and then under white papers.

Tom - read the info on the stoptech web site and follow the directions. I'd also suggest you try the Pagid RS 19 Yellow endurance racing pads - a big improvement over the Orange. The RS 19 makes less dust and is very rotor friendly which the orange is not.
Best,

Tom are you going to the January 29th event? Or is this something earlier. We are doing rennstock here in town and I should be doing the 29th event with suncoast of a very long and horrible 1 year break from track days.

I have the Gen 1 PCCB's with 78,000 miles on them - original rotors and second set of pads - yes bed them as JP indicates above and always always at each heat spend 3-4 laps warming the tires and progressively heating the brakes as well as cooling them properly after a hard heat or run in the car.....this has worked for me for the miles above on PCCB's - which I swear by over the stock turbo setup - and yes I have about 25,000 miles in another Turbo in the stock brake setup

You could not worry about it and send your pads to these guys - www.prosystembrakes.com
They pretty much wrote the book on dyno prebeding of brake pads and rotors years ago and have done thousands of pads and rotors. Quick turn around also.
