Default Super Sprint Exhaust

In a continuing quest to find a good exhaust without taking out a home (trailer ) equity loan, I have seen a Super Sprint exhaust mentioned a couple of times this week. I went to the uk-based webpage but didn't get any information (price, db, resonance, video clips, dyno, etc).

Anybody with information on these guys?

Why don't you just look for a used system? They are stainless steel, so they don't really wear out, and they're under the car, so no one can tell that it's used. Also, if you ever decide to sell it, you can probably get your money out of it.

Yeah, I'd take a used system at the right price. So far, I have only seen exhausts I didn't want (Fabspeed...resonance), are convinced don't make enough added power (AWE, GHL), or are in too rough a shape with an astronomical asking price with plenty of people in the hunt.

What hp numbers are you looking for from an exhaust? AWE shows 28 peak crank hp gain on K16 turbos on their website....I've been pleased.

Dr. T,
My problem with AWE is two-fold. First, they highly discourage the pretty std 100 cell cat by the following statement:

"Also unique is that our design incorporates 300 cell per square inch metal substrate catalytic converters, to ensure long term emission compliance and no check engine lights. The use of 300 cell per square inch cats produced less the 1 psi of additional backpressure vs no cat at all. Despite claims from competitors, 100 cell cats cannot pass most strict state emission tests, and as they wear out it is very common for the check engine light to illuminate on the dash. We have done extensive testing using a top quality metal substrate cat to quantify the performance loss in exchange for long term emissions compliance and no check engine lights. The difference between 100 cell and 300 cell cats is less than 3 horsepower.

For die hard performance enthusiasts, we offer a 100 cell per square inch version of this muffler, yet we cannot guarantee any emissions compliance or that your check engine light will not illuminate with the 100 cell version."

Now nobody else has trouble with CELs or emissions to my knowledge.

Now look at the attached dyno pic. There virtually no gain in HP or torque until 4000 rpm. Exhausts like the Fabspeed and Europipe are always above the stock curves. Is this because of the 300 cell cats? Don't know.

I'm sure everybody that has one is happy, might be a great product but I don't get the right vibes.

The 70MM Race Version is actually something else I'm going to try. I don't know why but I figure if I at least try every single exhaust out there I'll be able to point different people with different needs in some sort of direction... I've never yet tried the 70mm race version so here goes..

Shark,
I had a chance to hear ( and drive) RXDOC's 02 Turbo with Supersprint (Techart). It does sound terrific. Very close to stock at idle and part throttle, but a great sound at WOT. Did not appear to have any resonance issues. Nice exhaust IMO.

You should not get any CELs from the Fabspeed exhaust.

I definitely do. If memory serves me correctly, they are P0420 and P0430. Do my cats have problems? If so, will Fabspeed warranty that?

Do you know if the 02 sensors were put back correctly? The 5 wire 02 sensor goes before the cat and the 4 wire after on both sides... just check that and make sure
