DAMN! got sideswiped by a bus.
I'm still so pissed that I didnt hit the brakes harder, but the bus decides to change lanes (into the passing lane) into me.
I went up on the median, but thankfully I am allright.
My question is...
Whats the best bodyshop in san diego to take my baby to?
There's some minor fende damage, but i suspect that some painting will be required. Theres damage to the pass side fenders. Should i demand a full repaint so there's jno issue with paint not matching?
The rear fender got crushed in a little bit, enough to cause the rear pass wheel to scrape the inside fender. SHould i bend it out, or tow the car to the shop (that you guys advise).
thx

banging it out might not be good enough, hard to tell without looking at it.
anyways, when it comes to repainting, especialyl wtih metallic colours, it is neccessary to blend nearby panels for a complete match.
the metallic paints are much more difficult to match than flat colours.
get a competant body shop! , hope you are back on the road soon!.

where ever you take it walk around there shop and look at there work. Ask them what type of repair they did on each car in there shop. Then ask your self if the car they just repaired was yours would you be happy with the job. If the answer is yes let them fix your car. If no walk.. Carl

You are going to be in for a significant bill anyway, so you may as well pay for the flat bed, particularly if you have to go more than a few miles.
Visit the shop, look athe their work and let them decide what to do. If it isn't "perfect" most people couldn't discern it (if the shop is truely good). If it bothers you, remember it's still just a car and you are alive and well and able to get another. AS

The Looks & the smooth talk of the shop owner could be both very deceiving ask me how i know. The body shop i brought my Supra TT to had 3 huge warehouse equvalent of space ( one to store the cars,2nd to work on them and the third to prep and to be delivered to the owners ) and had all the high end cars inculding Mercedes, audis and jaguars getting worked on,so ofcourse i got taken in.
The jerk couldn't even match the solid red color so my advice to you would be to bring the car to a shop who has worked on Porsches before and is familiar with the Porsche colors.O don't forget to ask about the written warrenty and also how long they have been in buisness.
Goodluck in getting your car repaired.

well the car is at west coast specialties now.
i had allstate tow it in.
i was really impressed - the flatbed showed up in 30 min. vs the 2 hr that 800-porsche took.
Pioneer porsche sends all their stuff to these guys, so hopefully it'll be prefect.
Thanks for your advice and concern guys!

I am actually kinda happy (silver lining to the cloud).
The car had a bunch of rock chips on the hood, some scuff damage on 2 rims, my front lip got cracked/scraped b4 i figured it out and i replaced my rear tires (flat) but had not done a 4 wheel alignment.
All that stuff will get fixed to brand new for the cost of my deductible.
The real question now is...
"what color to paint the rims"?
The guy at west coast specialties said they'll have to paint 3 rims to repair them. He asked me if i wanted the same color.
I dunno, anybody see a lapis blue car with lapis blue rims?
I think black/black looks great, but yello/yello looks bad. We've all seen the mcdonalds car yellow/red.
Whaddythink? blue/blue? blue/black

Not sure what to do with the color of the wheels but I would install the clear bra. Ask Ryan about it. Back to the wheels, personally I'm buying new ones....HRE or Kineses. If you stay with originals I would keep them the stock color. Having said that it really depends on what you want. Good luck.
