Hey guys,
So I think I've decided I want to sell my M3 and get a slightly used 996 TT. If you would be so kind as to answer a couple short questions for me, I'd greatly appreciate it:
-I plan on modifying the car as soon as I can. Ultimate goal is 600+ awhp. Knowing this, is there any benefit to me getting an X50 package over a standard TT? Or would that only be a benefit for someone that that does not plan on modifying the car at all?
-Can someone give me a good idea of how much it'll cost me to achieve 600+ awhp? Would $20k do it (including labor)?
-What's the most power poeple are getting out of the GT3? I like the lightweight RWD platform, but the moddability factor really hurts in it in my particular case. I'm guessing 370-380rwhp is max?
Thanks very much for your time.

600+ HP at ALL wheels will exceed many of your internal engine components.. You will have to dive into your engine and replace the rods. Most of these kits do not use the K24 based turbochargers. If you are planning on a heavily modded car, buy a normal TT.

From my experience and learning curve so far, to achieve 600AWHP with durability you will need to cough up more than 20G's. The X-50 car may not be worth the extra $ because the only benefit you will get is the GT3R oil pump and GT2 intercoolers...everything else will need to be upgraded. The K24's will be replaced with some type of hybrid turbo, I am using the Garrett GT700 K16 from Evoms, the engine will need to be torn down and freshened with a good set of rods (I am using Carrillo), beefier head studs and related hardware, higher performance clutch installed with corresponding flywheel, fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel injectors will all need to be upgraded, software programming, intake and intercooler plumbing...etc. May I suggest Evolution Motorsports (evoms.com) or Imagine Auto (imagineauto.com) for further information. Stephen Kaspar of Imagine Auto is building my motor and installing the GT700 package from Evolution Motorsports.
If you only need 500AWHP and have a certain budget then go with the X-50 car and install the Stage IV package and you will love it...until you get used to the adrenaline rush and need more power to produce more adrenaline and so on and so on.

Imagine Auto Stage 4 is 605HP/605TQ and very reliable. The price is near the $20K range, maybe a bit more depending on your components. I have had it for 8000 miles and it is rock solid. Call Stephen Kaspar at ImagineAuto for all the details. He will gladly address all your questions and then some.

Thanks everyone.
Just to clarify, it sounds like 500 awhp (600 crank HP) you can do safely...but once you start going past this point, the stock internals may not be able to handle it.
-If I go with a regular TT, I can get a solid 500 awhp (600 crank) from a Stage 4 kit for about $16k installed (includes clutch)
-And if I go with a X50, a Stage 4 kit will give me a reliable 500 awhp (600 crank) for around $12k installed (with clutch).
Correct?
