Anyone have the pics of the welds from the first page? It appears they are no longer there. After speaking with kevin I may give this a try.

Kevin M. - Will these headers be used on the 3B? I believe you said some time back that ported OEM headers were good to about 600 HP?

Zippy, they will be port matched to the heads and turbine housings.. I have ran 653HP to the wheels thru them already... Velocity is king...

Kevin: Thanks I think I saw the pic's in a post a few months back......and so I went hunting for a spare set of OE 996 Headers....and low and behold, EVO posted about 20 sets on eBay....I got mine for $28, yes $28 with shipping.

Now I need to see your pic's and the burr tool. Or at least discribe the burr tool diameter (or is it a tapered conical burr).

Last: I know the jet hot coat has some potential to keep the heat in the gas, but can it really make much difference?? My guess is taht it's not worth the $2-300 unless the cosmetics are important to you.....and they are in many cases.....but not for me on this car.

Pls re-post the Picture. Great Kevin.....I just love low$$ performance and any reduction in lag is very positive to me.

Kevin,
How do you match headers to heads and turbine housings? Do you do this when the turbos and heads are disassembled? Btw Hope your feeling better

Need some help. I've used every search criteria I can think of and can't find the stock headers mentioned on eBay. I've wanted to do this mod to the stock headers for some time and this eBay option would really limit my down-time. Can a brother get some help here? Thanks guys.

Response to Flyenlow: They are no longer on eBay, but you might call EVO's in AZ direct and see what they've got. I bought an extra set for the same reason...avoid down time. But, when I done, I'll sell/trade you my stockers and we can start a chain.

I have pictures of headers we ported in the 997 section so you can see the weld and the changes made (with the micrometer)

MK19: That is hilarious, I didn't think of that one. I apreciate the offer. I just found out that I have to be in Australia for two weeks in the near future. That would be a good time to have the mod done. Thanks anyway. Steve

Good pics. If you will notice on the first photo you can see the black exhaust line around the outside of the header port. This is due to the fact that the ports on the header are smaller than the head. The exhaust is always hitting this area on the way out. So you can almost consider that black area your template as to how car to open the headers.

Just read thru this whole post. Very exciting and since my car is stuck inside the garage its a great time to do it. Removing the headers seems pretty simple but do I need to get some new gaskets before reinstalling them?
