Question 996 Turbo, SL55, Maranello 550

Hi everybody. I have just received my new 996 Supercup car for tracking this season, and I was wondering about selling my 2003 Techart Turbo and going for a different brand as a performance road car (I have a new 7 series Alpina and a 4.5 TVR Cerbera Lightweight). The two cars I consider are the AMG SL55 in Performance Pack and the Maranello 550 (not 575) but with Fiorano pack (brakes, suspension upgrade). Any input from the crowd here? I am scheduled to driving both shortly.

Thanks

G.

550 Maranello over a SL55 IMO, after hearing you have a 7 for everyday use.

What are the details on your 2003 TechArt Turbo? Where are you located? How much would you be asking for it? Thank you.

Hi Harry,

I am actually in Lux city. I agree great country. Bitburg is quite close, I have used the airbase there a couple of times during trackdays and drifting courses with the Viper

i just got rid of my sl55 ... very fast, but at the same time very unreliable, and boring. the reason i got rid of it was because of a blown engine and a transmision replacement after 5000 miles. did i mention this was my second sl55? first one was replaced after a lot of time in the shop because of oil leaks. so ive decided to getthe 996 tt cab. do you want to sell your techart front bumper?

I used to own a 1998 550 Maranello. Great car but they fall apart after 15K miles. Motor mounts shot, shocks leaked, valve cover gaskets leaked, hoses leaked, yada yada yada.

If you can work on them yourself then you'll be OK.
