Default EVOMS Turbocharger Air Inlet Ducts

Hello, does anyone know if you can install the EVOMS Turbocharger Air Inlet Ducts without removing the engine? Has anyone done it? How bad was the process? Thanks

You can but it is a pain and you have to cut off the old pipes to get them out (I think). I did mine with the engine removed.

They no longer available besides they a nightmare even with the engine out. I just ordered the flex tubing from Markski.

I also have the Markski setup. It's nice but pricey.

Which one do you use, the Markski or EVOMS? Do you have the Markski flex tubing or aluminum hard piping?

Thanks, Mike

I, too, ended up with Markski's inlet pipes after talking with Sam. He recommended going with flex tubing so the don't make rattling noise like hard pipe do.

Thanks for the info. I saw you were looking for the EVOMS inlet pipes as well on 6speed. How was the install of the Markski plenum? Did you do it in the car? How was the performance difference? I am SpeedAddict over on 6speed.

Thanks, Mike

My motor is out and threads like this do not help my wallet. Maybe Markski will do a group buy price

Hi Mike, I haven't actually picked it up from Markski yet. He is still in the process of making it. Unfortunately my engine needs to be pulled to replace a cracked intake distributor and decided to go all out. Bought k16 billets, Speedtech Ti exhaust, GT2RS ICs, ID1300 injectors, the inlet pipes, 2.5 Sachs clutch, etc. Everything will be done at once so I really do not knwo how much of improvement these will bring. I like doing piece by piece upgrades to see what difference each part makes, but unfortunately this will not be the case.

I'm not a fan of the donkey d**k soft pipes but there are not any other options out there currently. Here is what I would probably install....

John, I really wanted a hard pipe setup but after talking to Sam he really praised the Markski flexible pipes. He stated he gets those sets and installs them on his builds, apparently the flexible pipes are pretty durable that markski sells.

You know I went back and forth with you on many of these parts to a point I just gave up. Way too many options and opinions on everything. I talked to Sam, since he will be doing my tune, I told him my goals and asked him to just tell me what to buy. So here I am

My car will see maybe 1k miles a year of street driving only, so I'm sure they will last. Time will tell.

The soft pipes work. I had them my car 10 years ago on my car as that is what RUF used at the time. You just have to check them periodically for rubbing as they can be fragile. No other options right now for anything else.. Nor 100% sure, but I do not believe the evoms pipes are available anymore..

Yea, we used them with our plenum and have not been able to get them for well over a year now. Too bad, they were a great solution. Same with the GT2 clutch conversion kit, not available for over a year.

Happy to bump this thread to say we finally got these inlet ducts back into production, and I have a number of sets on the shelf now: http://www.evoms.com/Porsche_Turbo_T...kfaid996tt.htm. Cores have been difficult to come by, but we have a setup for quick 3-4 day turnaround on modification and have photos and a good description of the modification to be made to the OEM y-pipe if you have fabrication available locally.

Those do look nice. Question........any benefit to using these on a street-only stocker?
