Default CTEK Charger Setup

I don't drive the P car that much, it may sit for 2 months at times, and I am done dealing with jump starting it! I purchased a CTEK MXS.5.0 for a constant trickle/maintainer. I would like to install/route it so that is is more permanent. It did come with a short pigtail that can be bolted to the terminals. It looks like I will have to get the extension to go between the short pigtail and charger cable, and saw that @Kevin mentioned it can go through the small opening on the right front between the hood and windshield. I can run it through here but what do you do with it when it is disconnected/driving? Does it get lost in the plastic fascia? Does anyone have a photo of how this is setup on theirs? Or does someone have a different solution?

Does the charger have a cigarette lighter plug-in?

mine is routed to above the front facia center radiator soft duct. to access it I just dislodge it through the center grill and pull the wire down and connect. works well when the cover is on as well and does really touch the paint.

No but it does appear that I can purchase that accessory. I see you have the porsche one, how do you route yours? Do you leave a window down?

This routing does not negatively impact the window or the weather stripping.

I've used this charging method since I purchased the car.

i started going thru the bottom of the door in case that it does distort the weather-stripping, it's at least at the bottom where any water can still drain down. initially i would do it up by the window but i found that when the window moves up when you close the door, it would slowly rub the wire down...

I haven't experienced any wear on the wire.

Same practice here, but I go under the door sill.

Thanks Dock. The cig lighter works well? I was hesitant to do this due to wear on the wire as well. but sounds like it's a non-issue. This would be an easier path than wiring to the battery.

Looks like an enclosed garage. You don’t want to simply leave the windows down? That’s what I do with mine.

I don't want insects in the car.
