Default High octane gas in Los Angeles area

Does anyone know where to buy 93+ octane gas in the Los Angeles area? I noticed a 76 station in Aoura hills that had a pump marked as 100 octane but it was out of service and the station owner said they no longer carried it.

Try VP Racing Fuel (www.vpracingfuels.com), which is being carried by some 76 stations here in Northern California since 76 stopped producing race fuels. I believe there is a map on the site also.

Good luck.

I browsed through VP Racing's website and it looks like they only sell by the pail or drums...

I didn't realize that 76 had stopped selling race gas. There is/was a station in West LA - I think on Bundy that sold 100 octane for around $4.50/gal.

Other than that, I think other fuel brands are only sold by the pail or drum. VP is a well known company, and they will ship UPS to you, or you can pick up. (BTW, they are in wildomar, which is near Lake Elsinore, not the bay area).

Sunoco also refines and sells race gas by the pail or drum. You can get sales information from their regional distributor, the Paul Oil company. Tel800) 527-6090. I don't think that Paul Oil sells direct, but they can let you know who does sell in your area.

Hey you live in calabasas and you don't know? what is that one street before kanan if you wanted to take it into old agora, well that street if you go south on it and you notice the motorcycle shop there etc. That 76 across the way sells 100 and it's the cheapest place around to boot. It's like 4.25 there if I remember right. I always hit it up when I went to the canyons etc.

SPR, that is the 76 station that do not carry the 100 octane anymore. From what I hear, it appears that non of the refineries in California makes anything higher than 91 octane anymore.

There's 2 Union 76 stations in West LA that offer 100 octane -- 1) located at the corner of San Vincente and Bundy and, (2) located at Pico and Bundy. Also, there's (I believe) a Texaco station at the NW corner of De Soto and Vanowen that has a dedicated pump for unleaded racing gas. Given your location in Calabasas, that may be the most convenient source of 100+ octane unleaded gas.

I have purchased 100 octane at Union 76 in Pasadena (on Arroyo Parkway at the end of the 110 freeway). I just phoned them and they still sell it (but expensive, $5.xx/gal.) Obviously Union must still make it. A while back I found a list of Union stations that sell it, I think on the unocal website, but I can't find the link now.

Thanks, that's great. I'm only a couple of miles from Almaden and Foxworhy.

Jack,

The Texaco station in the valley would be the closest to me. I will give them a visit. Thanks!

jlee -- please note that I only believe it's a Texaco station, could be a different branded (even an independent/off brand) station. Regardless, it's the gas station on the NW corner of Desoto and Vanowen -- they have only 1 pump with unleaded racing gas.

So if the fuel tank capacity is 16.9 gallons (64 liters), then just under 8 gallons of 100 octane mixed with 91 octane premium gets me a 95 octane mix, right?
