Default New Michelin all season tire

Michelin recently introduced a high performance all season tire; the Pilot Sport All Season. GM asked them to develop a performance tire for their new corvette. Corvettes now come from the factory with these all seasons. I don’t see them yet in sizes for our TTs. I’m leery of Michelins for Porsches anyway but some of you might want to try them when sizes are available.

They did have them in sizes for my X3M so I’m going to try them this winter in lieu of snow tires. I’ll post back how they perform.

Sorry for the photo orientation. iPhones always do this.

Michelins are usually really good tires if not the best. I try to run them if available in my size.

My Jeep came with Michelins (Latitude I think) all seasons ad they sucked in the snow! I felt like riding an elephant on skates! LOL.
I now have a set of dedicated snow tires (Blizzaks DMV2) and all terrain tires for summer.

No argument. They make a good tire. As I stated in another thread my problem with Michelins for Porsches is they have frequently been on backorder; sometimes for 3 months, or they can’t even say when they will be available. Hopefully they’ve resolved this issue. I don’t want to be held hostage if one tire were to be damaged. But if this model performs and they make it for the TT, I might try them.

Good info. Someone I know just picked up the AS4, he said his initial impression is that he'll need to work a bit harder to get the same performance that he had with the PS4S. Which is understandable. He decided to switch to the AS4 even though he's in CA as he's doing a lot of highway driving and wants to avoid going through tires as quickly as he was with the PS4S.

The AS 4 model is what I just bought. There is a good video on YouTube where the development manager discusses the technology that went into the design; if you’re up for a 30 minute tech discussion. I was bored, but it’s not bad. This manager was once a test driver.

I'll be curious to hear if you can light up all four of them when you mat it...

I use the Michelin snowies on the 991, they are very comfy and sticky, which is remarkable for a snow tire.

LOL. I don’t think so. Not at the cost of these tires.

I’ve watched videos on the X3M. With the awd, it just launches; very little wheel spin. Personally I’ve yet to try the launch control function. I’m still getting to know the car.

I'll have to watch it. For reference, my friend put them on his E39 M5. Figured I would add that since I see you have an E39 M5 as well.

I have AS/3 on my 996. I could keep up with my friend in his E46 M3 with his PS4s on the track. They aren’t as good as extreme dedicated summer tires to be sure, but then again, I don’t drive 9/10th on the street. They also keep me from getting stuck in up to 7-8” of snow. Again, pretty slippery, compared to real winters, but around where I live, they plow the streets. Most of the time, it’s 50F average temp, which is where the AS tires shine.
