all of them? when my box was opened, the only worn parts were the bearings. my synchro's and gears were in great shape.

so i fixed what i needed. i didn't need upgrades - brass gears etc or different taller ratios etc

Before you get a tranny rebuild, how bad is it? There was a similar thread a few months back where many people reported that occasionally they didn’t get first gear fully engaged when at a stop, like a stoplight. I’ve had that issue since I bought my car nearly 5 years ago. I have just gotten into the habit of making certain first is fully engaged before letting out the clutch. The issue is still there, but it is rarely a problem since I double check it is fully engaged before pulling away from a stop. I’m sure as hell not rebuilding my tranny over it.

Did you not his drain plug above? That, does not look pretty, but it does look expensive.

It might end up being a more expensive repair later.

Latest update lads

I'm doing what I should of done first and what I would advice anyone to do in future

Drain the oil

Wash the gearbox out with fresh oil

And repeat the process until the oil drains out clean

New cables and gear shifter

Exhaust all these options FIRST instead of diving head first in to ripping the gearbox out and having it rebuilt

seems reasonable. but whatever is disintegrating/degrading inside won't be helped by continuing with it as is.

i suspect a bearing has begun to fail. they literally will liquify. but that usually has accompanying gear whine noise etc.

gl w it. g'box issues are no joke - financially.
