Turbo clutch upgrade advice please
I have a AWE700R 996 turbo. She puts down around 580whp and 570ish wtq. I am in need of a clutch replacement. I want a clutch setup that can handle 800+whp/wtq. The car came with the awe kit and it seems from the build sheet that an Sachs stage 2 was installed. Not a 2.5 or 3. Im guessing this is why this clutch is on its way out in 12k miles only because thepressure plate on the 2 couldn't handle the torque. I've only had the car four about 1500 miles (4 months) and am a pretty good driver with a manual. I rev match my downshifts and on all the cars I've owned this is the first time I've had to do a clutch.
I will be doing gt2 slave conversion and welding coolant fittings at the same time. I may not need a new flywheel but please make your best recommendation both with dual mass flywheel and another with lightweight flywheel option (which I would like).
Thanks in advance
Ps I did the search but many were outdated. Just want to know the recommendations from experts on here as well as Kevin and Sharkwerks e.t.c. and even purchase what I need from Kevin since you seem to be the guru of these cars.

If you want a 800HP rated clutch you will need a twin disk setup. Tilton would be the best setup.. If you want a 600WHP clutch go with the Sachs 2.5 or SRE with 4.0 clutch disk/764 RS flywheel.
If you are drag racing go with the Tilton or Twin disk.

If you have the Sachs 2.0 kit, most likely you have the Sachs 752 pressure plate>not enough clamp force.

Ironically, I was just thinking about this today. I don't need a clutch but would like to have a plan for when I do. I do like how the stock clutch feels, perhaps I am the minority. But I will definitely give you a call Kevin when I'm ready.

I think you aren't alone. I was tempted to go gt2 when I replaced my slave recently but since I am street only I stayed OEM and I am very happy so far. Never stalled the car a single time in 6mo of ownership and find my pickup very consistent.
