Default Less than 1 mile on my new car and poof

I just got my car today after having it shipped up from texas, i drove down my street, pulled onto the highway, gave it some gas then the check coolant light came on and i look behind me and it looked like something from a 007 movie of a smokescreen

literally a mile and 2 mins in the car before it broke lol

it wasnt dripping coolant onto the ground and it wasnt getting hot so i turned around and went home

after waiting for the mess to clear off because I couldnt see squat I finally found the problem i think, it appears there is a small crack in the backside of this coolant hose, i could see a little spray coming out of there at idle, or its leaking around the inlet of that hose but i dont think so

the hose is 46 bucks from the dealer but 2 days

just my luck for waiting nearly 20 years to have a turbo lol

Good morning and so sorry that’s happening to you. Im sure once the part arrives and you are able to complete the swap, you won’t have any more problems. It’s just one of those “bad luck” situations that could have happened to anyone. Also, and I’m sure you agree, it could have been worse, so you should look at it that way even thought it might be hard now. If you were able to wait 20 years for your dream car, what’s another 2 days?! 👍😀 As long as your car runs well after the repair it will all be forgotten soon and you’ll really start enjoying the car for many years to come and in good health. Good luck and hang in there!

lol true

i knew going into it that these cars are terrible with the coolant pipes but this one was not one of the ones i expected. I will probably end up pulling the motor and replacing them all and weld / pin the other ones anyway.

hopefully drive 2 will go better lol

I remember Kevin suggested 4 hoses (I think) that should be replaced upon purchase of a Turbo. The two big coolant hoses in the engine compartment were two of them, can't remember the rest.......

I have a feeling we're going to start seeing this more often.

You might want to check the other coolant hose that comes out near the power steering pump. It actually has the curved coolant fitting that is glued into the housing. It's to the left of the main coolant hose.

I have said this before.. Do not DRIVE your car after you see the LOW COOLANT warning light. If you drive the car you risk blowing a head gasket. Park your car...

Before you start the engine, you should need to replace your air filter. The engine has been ingesting the coolant. Coolant will bake on your hot film MAF and it will fail.

The exact same hose went on mine, the day I got the car back from installing exhaust, major service, etc.

Complete and total irritation, however, make me aware that the car was 15 years old, so I changed all the hoses.

Never a good way to start off with a new car. I bought a 928 from a guy , during my test drive it blew a hose . Big mess ! He agreed to have the repair done , I took the car after repaired . turned out to be a great car ! Enjoy all the thrills of ownership !!!
