The wife of one of my good friends just got a new Merc SUV...I think a GLE350 or 450, with the "AMG package." She legitimately thinks she is driving an AMG car. My wife won't let me break it to her.

Everyone wants to own a turbo.

And clearly there are some here who want see Porsche fail. They are the ones taking this and the Porsche brand way too seriously. It is just a car.
The sunglasses....Ah darnit, i should read the screen names more often.

I still love porsche.....im Still trying to figure out a way to add a 4 liter GT3 to the garage.

They are doing what every good business strives to do, stay relevant.

That's not true. For example, the top 911 model is the GT 2 RS, and that car is not called "Turbo". And it doesn't have "turbo" on the back either.

Porsche is cannibalizing its good name(s) for a sales/marketing gimmick.

Name pollution/dilution is now the norm.

I am a huge fan of the Taycan. I don’t think I will sell my Model S for it anytime soon since Tesla has so much more going for it than just HP and launch control. Call me crazy, but I cannot wait to see an all electric 911. The writing is in the wall. The Turbo name is stupid though.

Bring your checkbook and make sure you have at least $180K in your account.

crazy.

my grandfather used to say things like that when i was watching the Jetsons as a kid....still nothing. Thank goodness.

But an all electric car that LOOKs like, badged like a sports car? but with no sounds? kinda like
non-alcoholic beer, why?
tofu shaped like a hamburger? why?
carbon fiber / wood grain vinyl wraps...why?
faux exhaust ports on a civic, why?

Anyway, thank goodness for the perpetually greedy big oil companies who will not let everything go electric anytime soon.

...an electric 911, pfft

I get it, I am a Porsche Fan boy, I want several in my stable (don’t have several though, lol), but we are in the sunset of the ICE era. Onward and upwards. Nothing stays the same.

I hear ya...my stable has 1! Hopefully you can spread your thought process to some of these 997 GT3 owners I want one of those smelly, stinky, loud, environmentally bad cars. I'll take the moral hit...happily.
