She'll ask why I need two of the things that look identical.

Two of my Porsches that I removed visor decals from had Graphite Grey interiors, however I don't specifically recall their removal leaving a stain. I'll look back in my picture stash when I get a chance to see if I have any pictures of the Graphite Grey visors with the decals removed.
I used the 3M cleaner and pulled my stickers off. It looks pretty good, just a slight rectangular shadow mark remains on the surface of the faux leather/vinyl.

They must use an iron to lay those stickers on because the pebble texture underneath is definitely effected.

I have the same faint rectangular shadow visible at certain angles and lighting conditions. I'll take that over the decals.

Sounds like a case for leaving them be.

Not really, the faint shadow is a million times more aesthetically pleasing then the sticker.

The stickers are only on North American cars and are applied by an aftermarket company, usually right on the dock just before the cars clear customs. The same company does it for almost all the import OEMs.

I did just around 4,000 miles last year from Houston to the Grand Tetons and back through Colorado / NM. Encountered along the way unexpected was a loose headlight (easy fix), failed radar detector hard wire to ground (my fault) and that's about it. Only other thing i had to do was monitor fuel and oil consumption, which were normal. Oh - and had to turn around to outrun a hail storm south of Pagosa Springs. Enjoy the drive, looks fabulous.

4,000 miles - or as we look at things, 6400kms - that is a big drive, sounds like fun.

I figured we would start with something local-ish. Despite the fact I think I have really addressed all the reliability issues that could plague someone on a drive like this, I would be lying if I said i was 'ok' with the unexpected failures... for example, I would probably go into cardiac arrest if my radar detector died...

Tomorrow, the car is going into the radio shop for a new Pioneer head unit with Bluetooth! I should have my new exhaust tips tomorrow, and I should have the sways and steering wheel in on Monday. Getting closer, cannot wait!

Cheers,

Cheers,
I am a big fan of Pioneer and seriously debating putting in a double din for my single din Alpine. After doing a 4500 miles trip recently- albeit not in the Porsche- I am hooked on CarPlay, Google Maps is just awesome for these things. Which model did you get?

Pioneer AVIC-W8500NEX, 6.94" Touch Screen, Navigation, Wireless Apple Car Play & Android Auto, with, MOST-H.U.R. 955 Fiber Optic Head Unit replacement for select Porsche vehicles...

I am told it will sound awesome, however, I am half deaf, so the awesomeness may be lost on me...

It automatically integrates into the MOST system and works with Bose stuff in the later 996 turbos? I have an 03 and want to put in a double din Apple Car play unit soon.
