996TT interior vs 997

Still some job things up in the air so we'll see. Nothing in south Denver worked for my wife so I gave up that job offer and we've been looking at practices in the springs.

for whatever reason, my car came with the GT3 console delete. I wasn't happy with that, so I grabbed a used one from eBay for $50 and now I have a place for the cell phone. And a few CDs :-)

996tt has some of the best leather ive seen in a car.
The Only better leather ive ever seen is on some king ranches. Imo 996tt interior needs more upkeep than 997tts but I like the 997tt interior better

I often read the criticism that our cars are the "transition" period -- not vintage like a 993 and not as refined as a 997, but I would argue that they are the best of both worlds. You can even decide whether you want the console or not.
And I think it's been said, but the full leather that came standard on the TT's is a pretty big upgrade over a standard 996.

They tried to do the same with the 992 dash, trying to make a rough aircooled dash shape, but that's a new retro design attempt. The 996 is actual real evolution. To me, that's just awesome.
Having said that, IMO the 997 interior does look nicer. Just not as cool.

I was at a cars and coffee event yesterday and a younger guy in his 20s with an E46 M3 was admiring my car and when he looked inside, he commented on how amazing the interior looked and asked me if the dash was an aftermarket upgrade. It’s kind of funny getting unbiased first impressions from non Porschefiles of the 996 exterior and interior where most seem to adore them.
