Well I'm not the right guy to ask...I bought my car in SoCal, stopped by to see Sam @ By Design for a 1 bar tune on my ride home. Kline exhaust arrived a week later. That was 4+ years ago and I'm still on stock suspension, although I do have adj. GMG front and rear sway bars.

I just moved across the Bay and now have a much gentler driveway and will eventually lower the car, but it wasn't possible to lower with my SF driveway angles.

What order of modifications would you have done had you lived in your current house when you purchased your 996 Turbo? Or would you have done it all at one time?

This^ or do the suspension first.
Just make sure you replace the tie rods, LCA bushings, hats, and other 20year old rubber while you're in there as it's all off anyways, you'll save $ in the long run, and the car will drive better than new.

I would have done the tune, exhaust, and lowering (probably PSS10s like everyone else) all at the same time, or thereabouts if I didn't have to deal with that driveway.

I've waited a long time to get this car, and I see no point in stretching out small personalized mods....

I agree with that philosophy.

Give me a great suspension, and I can beat you with a lawn mower motor.

On the street or on the track?

If you are tracking your car, go with the suspension. If on street do exhaust. My 951 is so modified, and the suspension work is extensive. I hit turns spooling up and the car holds very well. MO30 sport plus suspension plus more. And the motor is modified too.

I have a cobb tune and Kline. Love it. That said, it squats so hard that I spin the front tires and the power cuts when I get on it in cold weather. Car only has 33k on it. Makes me want to do a suspension upgrade.
Ohlins is about 3k? I know the height is adjustable...but can you keep it near stock height for driveways? Thx

Also. Is anyone upgrading the sway bars when going to Öhlins?

I can't answer this question, but I can tell you that the adjustable sway bars helped dialed out a significant amount of understeer that's built into the factory suspension.

I assume that adj. sways will work with an Öhlins coilover set up...

I was running PSS10s w/H&R rear bar when I had AWD and it worked really well for street and track.
You can fix some understeer scenarios with more trail braking.

Mine is C4S but I believe the suspension is the same as TT. I had Ohlins installed and Tarrett GT-series sway bars at the same time. It is set slightly softer than 997.2 GT3 but turns just as flat, or flatter (less roll).
