Interesting that you don't have the cup holders above your radio and yet your faceplate goes all the way to the top vent.... (scratches chin...) what face plate is that?

I love it. It modernizes the car in a way I didn’t think was possible. CarPlay works great, the usb connector was easy to route and adds functionality and the microphone is good enough to use to send text messages by voice even with my loud aftermarket no-name exhaust from a previous owner.
In addition to the Porsche, I have a poverty spec 2016 328i and between the two, now that the head unit and speakers are upgraded in the P, they feel similar in age. I don’t know if that speaks to the timelessness of the Porsche or otherwise, but I love both cars. I have never understood the hate the 996 interior gets, but I did grow up in the 90’s...

Hopefully the final update: I decided to swap the front pod JBL GTO 429 speakers for Rockford Fosgate R14X2 speakers. They are much smaller (depth and magnet diameter) and fit better with in the left front spot. I recommend them on size and they may even sound better.

I have not tacked the doors yet, that will come in December. I’m planning on JBL GTO 529s, but I want to open my doors up and see what the enclosures look like and whether I want to buy an extra set of enclosures to modify.
