Leaky fuel injectors? Bad MAF? Help!
Hey guys,
So I've got a 2001 Turbo that just ticked over 70,000 miles, and within the last month or so my car has developed this issue:
After driving the car to the point that it's warmed up and then subsequently shutting the car off and coming back, my car will often die when attempting to roll in reverse or first gear.
It seems like if I rev the engine up a little bit before trying to get a move on or give it a little extra gas when it feels like it's about to give out, the car will not stall and drives normally from then on.
I inclined to think that I may some leaky fuel injectors, and that after the engine is warmed up they are just flooding the cylinders and causing the engine to choke up. That being said, there is no smoke coming from the exhaust to indicate a rich air/fuel mixture, which is making me lean toward a bad MAF.
My average mpg is ~16mpg with mainly city driving... am I wrong to think it should be lower in the case of leaky fuel injectors?
What do y'all think?
