With the possibility of a local race track coming back into my life in 2019 .., see: https://badlandsmotorsportsresort.com/motorsports/

I am toying with the idea of selling my 1997 Porsche 993 C2 and replacing it with something like a 996 Turbo. I could start a whole new thread about my question. But I will ask it here instead. I won't need to worry about this if I can find a good used manual transmission 996 Turbo, but if a good Tiptronic was to surface has anyone ever tried converting the Tiptronic thumb shifters into paddle shifters? Can it be done?

I can't wait for you guys to get that track up and running! I'd love to make the trip out there. I went from a 993 to a 996TT for track duty as well. Good luck with your search!

I've driven my 996 Turbo ~2900 miles/year since new...just like I think it should be driven, and just as I have intended to drive it.
