Regarding weight, the question has been asked before. It weighs 7.7 lbs while the OEM glass is 16.4 lbs., so a savings of almost 9 lbs. high up in the car. Not bad. The window shown has the protective plastic film on it which is why it looks looks so dull/hazy. If anyone is looking for one, there are 3 showing worldwide in the Porsche parts system. All in Europe.

You are going to need some Plexus.

I have both Lexan rear and CF hood, though my car is not to the level of yours. The rear has held up very well for a fair weather/track car. It has seen the power tour and OLA and after 7 years it still looks good with common since care .I've got the quarter windows too with equal success on wear/scratch/UV.

What makes this substantially superior to other coated Lexan rear windows? I understand your OEM bias from other mod's and with better focus to one project I might feel more similar. I just tend to go bang for buck if non critical areas. This is not a question of "challenge" but one of intrigue.

what other Lexan options are there? Which quarters do you have? Vented louvre type? Do they come with the vents open or sealed? Thanks

non vented/ stock appearing with perforated black borders.

I'm NOT SUGGESTING these are as good as OEM. That is reason for question, but I have found these to be robust and tested personally to 175.

I have his products for three of my cars. Easy to deal with and pretty fast.

thanks for the link for some reason there are no images of any lexan on the site. Do the Lexan quarters mount as the stock units? Please post pics of yours when you have a moment. I would like to see a close up if possible. Thx

There are numerous companies making the lexan options. This one is in England and they get good reviews.

I personally always prefer to go with an OEM option as it takes any surprises out of the equation. I've been burned way too many times. I also believe that OEM parts will preserve the value of these cars unlike most aftermarket parts which detract from it. Just my $0.02 of course...

Curious to know which lexan kits mount like factory rather than being screwed into the Chassis like traditional lexan.
