Was planning on getting one from DCTMS or DB Carbon. DB Carbon has a wheel that looks identical to stock, but is able to make it thicker. The DCTMS one looks aftermarket, but i really like the look...

Unfortunately this is all gonna have to wait, as i am getting clutch slippage in third on uphills. So it looks like clutch replacement first.
It is the flat bottom. Extra thick. I had it custom stitched in orange to match the accents on my car. I love it. It is also smaller than stock like a 340mm

Yep, but the FVD is often more expensive for no apparent reason to me. Good enough reason for some to buy it instead, lol.

As for the crest, please don't bother, you know you're driving a Porsche. Although, the idea of a crest wedged in the head of someone who needs an additional that bad may be apropos.

My FVD probably cost a bit more than other alternatives, but FVD custom matched my Metropol Blue leather interior, and did deviated stitching on the steering wheel. They also offered the hub in matching leather. So IMO it is a very well designed and well built steering wheel, with the ability to customize leather color and stitching. Plus, there is some exclusivity, as it doesn't seem to be on many 996 Turbos. I can't think of a car part that I spend more time with my hands on than the steering wheel, so getting it right was very important to me. I needed the smaller diameter to gain some leg clearance, and the larger grip and overall design are perfect. For me, it was well worth the money.

I really wish someone sold a solution for mounting the newer 991 wheels in our cars, I especially like the way the simple ones with no buttons like like the one in the R.

Default Raid / atiwe / Gemballa / alcantara

Recently upgraded from stock to this. The difference is night and day. The style matches the car perfectly and the grip is second to none. Highly recommended.

I saw this today and thought the same thing. I've googled trying to finding more info on this build/car. Nothing yet.

My FVD was ~$1400. I sold the old one for $800...net $600.

With your rationale, there shouldn't be anything on the car that says Porsche or 911 or anything...so you've removed all logos...yeah right...LOL. Mine is stitched on so no crest to wedge anywhere.

Curious to hear anyone's opinions on any of the above, or if there are any other options I don't know about.
the raid/atwie from carnewal is the best wheel deal I've found. 895 delivered from gert. comes with a small and perfectly proportionate stick-on crest that some particularly skittish individuals have previously been concerned might potentially leave you with a porsche crest headstamp, in the event of a frontal impact.

having had a 996 turbo steering wheel airbag deploy in an impact already once in my life, i'd be more worried about the actual airbag, than that little plastic emblem.

Did Carnewal just remove all of the steering wheels from their site?

Yup, all the Raid steering wheels appear to be gone from the Carnewal website...
