Check out a 2004 Porsche 911 GT3 - $69,000 - $69,000 on CarGurus at https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/share/233976224
I'm in a holding pattern for a few weeks recovering from the shoulder replacement. She was just detailed and covered securely in the garage. Anyone local is welcome to come see it, but my typing is limited.

Thoughts on this car? Seems to be one of 1. Love this color on the 993. Not sure about it on the 996. Anyone know the car?

GBX.

Here's an old thread on I think the same car. It was also updated not that long ago. I don't know anything specific on this car.

Very high sticker!

GL if you decide to snag it!

Don't flame me for this, as this stuff is very subjective, but here is my two cents for why this car is not moving (and why it may be tough on resale). That color is very very cool, very pretty, and insane rare (1 of 1 perhaps?). But, my personal opinion is that the color does not fit the character of the car or the type of person that would be interested in a 996 gt3 (for over 90k). It is too "old man," too "luxury," too, dare I say, "90's Camry"? Its almost too nice, too luxurious, and too inconsistent with what a 996 gt3 is supposed to be (bare bones, raw, mechanical, in your face, no creature comforts, track weapon).

^^^^. Totally agree and was thinking same thing this morning. Car doesn’t look right for a GT3 in my opinion.

Totally agree. The appeal I think is to the buyer who collects GT cars of rare and PTS colors. Not my cup of tea though.

I totally agree Scott. The 6-3 is a total, unforgiving, Bad ***. No excuses, no BS, Raw and completely satisfying.

The Aubergine looks great on the smaller 911's; Longhoods' 964's & 993's. The 996 is too large to carry the color well.

How are you Chet? I don't know if you remember me. I bought a bunch of stuff from you for my 964 RS build I did many moons ago. I see you moved into the 996 GT3 as well. That car of yours looks great. Those wheels are the bomb on the 6-3. Saweet!!!

Sorry been a long time, but glad I could help. :-)

I have had my 6GT3 since new so it’s coming up on its 15th anniversary in a few months. Yeah love the E88’s. Actually ordered silver wheels and never opened the boxes for 6 months and when I finally did they were Gold. Was convinced by my son to keep and actually extremely happy with how they look.

Thanks again.

This reminds my of TT/DE days when a friend ran a prepared 80s 911 with that color. The banner on his indshield read “Eggplant Racing”.

But it agree that it’s just not a good 996 GT3 color. But who am I to critique. When I bru mine home, my son’s comment was,
”Oh, a holloween car.”

i corrected him him by saying “No, it’s SF Giants car.”

I actually like that color -- but not the price :-)

I'm tired of the silver's and black is so hard to upkeep... I can't tell you how many silver Porsches I've owned -- I'm not a loud in your face guy (so no Yellow, Orange, Bright Red) -- this would work for me...
