Shop it around for the best price. I called three different dealers when I had to replace my aerokit chin spoiler, prices varied by over $60 for the same parts. In my search, Suncoast Porsche had the best price.

Loren,

Why is the lower lip prime coated? Isn't it just black plastic?

I think Loren is talking about a lip spoiler for a C2 aerokit, not a GT3 spoiler.

Funny, the parts list shows "prime coated" yet the part number tag "01C" usually means black plastic. I just put what the parts list said.
BTW... the old aerokit spoiler was the same... it said prime coated and came as black plastic.

Loren,

I think both are correct, at least on the old aerokit. The black plastic spoiler lip was installed that way on the GT3 Mk 1 and GT3 Cup cars, probably because it was easier to replace that way. For regular 996's with the aerokit package, the lip was painted to match at the factory. If you needed to replace it, you had to have the new black plastic lip painted, thus from PAG's point of view, it was delivered ready to paint, or "prime coated".

I haven't looked closely enough at the new aerokit cars to know if it is still done this way or not.

O.K. Guys, I hope your sitting down.....$249.95 with discount from Suncoast.....$17 shipping because it is oversized! Pop rivets are .11 cents a piece(that is more like it)....so just figure at least $275 out the door. Better watch those speed bumps and curbs...

LAJ_996 you live in San Antonio?? Maybe we can get together? Drop me a pm and I will give you a call....Jeff:

Yes, the RoW GT3 Mk1 and US Aerokit spoilers are very much different than the MY04 GT3. Actually, $249 for the older one is a lot more than the $84 I paid for a spare (still not used). Shop around if you can.

Steve in Fla -- The MY04 GT3 spoiler is different from Aerokit II front spoiler also.

The '04 GT3 chin spoiler with the ...G2X part# superseded into ...01C.
