GT3 exhaust and Induction Noise

GT3 exhaust and Induction Noise
I was wondering why no one here has made a comment about the exhaust and induction noise in the GT3. I personally love a good sounding car but one that is TOO loud gets tiring after a while. I guess my question is does the Gt3 announce its intents or does it sound like a pussycat??
Thanks for your inputs

I agree, the GT3 has one of the best sounding engine notes I have heard since the Carrera GT. The engine has a real mechanical sound when cold and eventualy turns into a subdued burble with a somewhat lopey idle. At a steady cruise speed you can hear the engine though it is not out of character for the car. Is it to loud??? Well, that is proving to be a matter of personal preference. I am still working on breakin (360 miles to go) so I can not run it over 4200 rpm. However in a few short runs to 6000rpm's I can tell you that there is a full symphony back there waiting to blow the roof off.

noel,
louder of course, but to me the main feature of a stock turbo exhaust is its quietude.. which being an old Fart appeals to me... i've never really thought of exhaust note as being an overt part of the gt2 experience, as it is in a gt3.... let's you listen, next time we meet up TOW.
but there's something about wailing high rev.s in gt3 that's reminiscent of my 1970S.... i don't like that startup rattle in the gt3 but it's soon gone...
i am currently negotiating purchase of a 1973S with an new Andial 2.9L twin plug moter. this will provide a fun comparison to the gt3 sound...

I can't speak for Watt, but I've had two different people drive/ride in my GT2 recently and both ask if I had changed the exhaust or something. In fact, one commented that the engine/induction noise heard in the cabin was very reminiscent of the older air-cooled Porsches. I was noticing the same thing, but thought it must be wishful thinking on my part given the quieting effect of the turbos. The car definitely has gotten louder with mileage -- I'm sure a lot of the great noises that one hears inside these cars is due to the lack of insulation. Whatever it is -- I like it.

Yes it's loud but I agree it sounds great for a stock exhaust. I see no need to change it. If I'd wanted a quiet cruiser I would have gotten a TT. I need 500 more miles before I can really listen to it!! Can't imagine what it will sound like at 7500rpm or higher... you do notice the noise on the highway with no undercoating or sound deadening but I'm not complaining!

Ohhh yeahhh...Back to topic. The "note", let's see....
Sweet music to my ears!!! The only note I like better is that of an F1 car...Not realistic though...

rockit,
as you guys have pointed out, the dead part of my head is the porsche part... which is why i borrowed this: open the skull... there is no substitute.
while "drivin' that train high on cocaine" describes a portion of my life very accurately, i actually like Canned Heat : "goin' up the country" and jimi hendrix better.
and brendan, why not?a classic shape a great LW
