32karzy!, let me correct you. I, brought up the hemholtz theory back 3+ years ago on 6speed, before unobanium even made exhaust for 996t/gt2. Reason why I did not follow through with it for a few reasons. First, I bought a devise to measure the frequency for drone. Given the nature of our X pipe, 1, it was not feasible based on mathematical calculations to include a hemholts tubing to eliminate drone with our X pipe. Unobtanium does very nice welding but his X pipe is no different then BBI / Speedtech / 911 tunning yada yada yada. Only different X pipes in the market IMO from visual are , Todd's, Fabspeed, Ours. Also, it appears that Felix's is different among the rest. Second reason why we did not proceed forward to creating a hemholts tubing; after we calculated the amount of tubing we would need is; if we did proceed forward it would make it really impossible to make it a modular exhaust. Third and final reason why we did not proceed forward is, well sorry to be so blunt but as the 996 got older most owners are on a "tight" budget and i hate dealing with people emailing all the time about discounts. Our exhaust is already priced much lower then others on the market + imo it's the best sounding exhaust, in which we have received several compliment emails from race teams and our customers being extremely happy with the sound at WOT. That said, built quality all are about equal for the most part. Stainless. Tig welded. Just depends on how they were prep for welding really.

Either your math was off Enrique or you may have been misinformed. The 3" Unobtainium exhaust has less drone that any 996TT/GT2 exhaust I've ever heard including 2.5 speed tech, fabspeed, RUF, Europipe quiet or 911 tuning (don't know which version). It has less drone that a stock Cayman S exhaust or a full stock 997.1GT3 exhaust (which has very little drone to begin with). It's on par or better drone wise than a stock 6TT exhaust. The resonators work, no ifs ands or buts... My ears are extremely sensitive and any drone is very bothersome for me. How many unobtainium exhausts have you had a chance to listen to in person to base your comparison on?

John, re-read what I wrote on which X pipe I did the mathematics for based on which frequency's it was emitting...

Since you say the Unobtainium is just like any other X pipe, you must have a basis of comparison Enrique. Not arguing, just curious my friend. How many Unobtainium exhausts have you had a chance to listen to in person? Whose car?

Let's start off with clearing up your first comment. Which exhaust have i tested for drone using a frequency reader device, John ? Which one did i do the mathematical formula for ? Have you seen the readings I got ? How is my math off ? ...

Sorry Enrique, didn't mean to downplay your math at all. I'm sure it's spot on. Just saying that the helmholm resonators work very well on the TT/GT2 application and they can be applied to a modular exhaust with the right know how. It's clear you have never heard an unobtainium exhaust and as such it's a little presumptive for you to say that it is just like any other X pipe, 'cause it ain't...
