Default GT3 Cup Splitter-Joined the Club

So I'm officially a member. It took all of 3 weeks to separate the front splitter from the car, well at least the front portion of it. Yikes! I just ordered a new splitter and attachment hardware. I did keep the old splitter, but what a mess. It's useable. but only for track work at this point.

Two Questions:
1) What is the best way to attach this to keep it in place better? One GT3 owner reccomended 4 self tapping screws on the leading edge nose section, between the plastic screws to better seat the splitter. I assume it's designed to tear away, so not sure if others are approaching it this way. Is there some kind of good adhesive that works as well?... Advice sought.

2) What about leaving the splitter off for daily road use, and only attaching it for track work. Do any of you follow this routine.

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Hi,

I tried using the PM rivets but still took the splitter off in no time and had to walk 100m down the road to retrieve it.

I can't stand how the car looks without it so I installed expansion nuts in the bar and its held it good and proper with no adverse effects to the bar, I did only put them in the front most 9 holes and still use the plastic rivets on the sides, no worries in doing so.

In fact, I tailor made my new driveway (its steep) to suit the car.. that is how much I can't stand to be without the front splitter

You will find these links handy:

Where did you locate the expansion nuts? Is there a specific size and manufacturer, or are these fairly common.

Thanks, this does look like a great solution.

Cheers

Wow Mike, I don't think I've seen a pic of Kate before. Looks great! What wheels are you running there? Are they stockers painted black? I am in the midst of making a decision on track wheels and am considering a second set of stock wheels. Do you have thoughts or advice on the matter. I'll be running NT 01's in 235 and 315. Many Thanks for your valued opinion.

I has them painted gunmetal grey. Nittos great bang for the buck tire. Other than weight of stock rims- very durable. Mike
