Rennline vs Rothsport
These 2 seem to be among the top recommendations.
Is one better than the other?
If so, why?
Thanks for the feedback.

I have the Rothsport unit, haven't seen or used the Rennline piece. I'm very happy with mine, easy to install, operate. Looks good, very well made. Probably you'll do well w/either. Rennline has sale going on...

I think the Porsche Motorsport one is among the best I've ever seen (or used). However, it is stupid money. But OMP makes a unit this is virtually identical and it is $329. Not cheap, but it's about 1/2 what the Porsche unit is. What makes these so good - 1) It is a tapered eliptical that can only go on one way. 2) When it's on there is absolutely no slop at all since there are no splines and 3) there is a ring behind the unit that you simply compress toward the wheel to remove it. That means you can remove it with one hand. Let's say you've crashed your car and broken one hand and that the car is on fire and you have to get out in a hurry. No problem with this unit. Just grab the ring and pull it toward you and the wheel is off. If you have the kind that has the two pins that you must pull out simtaneously in order to get the wheel off - you're screwed. I have them at my store. Just PM me and I'll get you one.

I'm going through the same decision right now and those two were my top choices. One thing to keep in mind is that Rennline has 15% off right now which makes it a bit cheaper than the Rothsport. You probably can't go wrong with either. But I can't seem to make up my mind!

I just ordered the OMP. I purchased Savy's ex Personal (brand) wheel, but found out when I got it that the bolt pattern was Nardi (as opposed to Momo, which is pretty much the standard). Threw me for a loop.
The OMP unit has 12 holes so can be used with either the Nardi or Momo bolt pattern. I'll just clock the whole assembly using the column splines to get the wheel straight.
Then, if I decide to get a different wheel, I'll be able to keep my quick release.
Just another option with an eccentric coupling instead of ***** or splines.

I hear you, that is why we try to bring in as much product as we can to use it first hand. The Rothsport stuff is very good, never been disappointed. We are a rennline dealer and move a fair amount of their product through our shop. But before we recommend it to customers I would like to see it. We have the Rothsport one in our 996 race car and I will be able to compare back to back when we recieve the rennline one...
