That's pretty much every part on the car except the paint....especially for what is essentially a de-tuned race car that is almost 10 years old. Look after the entire car, moreso if you drive it on a track.

I keep checking in on this thread as it bothers me to think we should expect studs to fail when properly used. Anyone preaching that sh*t has been drinking large quantities of the kool-aid.

Everything on a racecar is a wear part, we get it. Such as wheels, they shouldn't be raced on for more than 3 seasons and should be checked frequently. But if they cracked within the first season under general, no off/hit, use... I wouldn't be using that brand of wheel without some serious research and support from the manufacturer to resolve the issue. I sure as hell wouldn't be buying more and saying it's fine and you just need to replace them every year for DE use.

Thanks, so these look like you need to insert them from behind the hub. Is this much harder than the screw-in type with loctite? Also, can anyone compare this to the apex pro version? thanks

Chris,

If you look a little further down the product page, you will see "double ended" wheelstuds. These are what we would typically use. I'm going to look into it, no prices on webpage.

Thanks Ken, didn't see that....

Its hard to see what material they are made from and what process they use to make it also... I'm trying to find someone that possibly makes forged ones... search continues..

Machined from aircraft quality alloy steel
•Undergo strict quality control procedures
•Finished with a baked-on HM-30 coating containing Teflon & Moly
•Twenty-four stock lengths available

Find your size and ask them the price on that one.

We have had good luck with Apex ones and the Rennline ones (which may be made by apex?), But will certainly give the MSI ones a try next time.

Cheers
