While it would be nice to leave this open until we get the 10+ orders to secure the discount i do not think this is fair to make the people tha have already paid wait for this. We had nearly 20 members express interest, with one day left on the GB 5 have confirmed payments. Thanks Guys!!!

I will accept payments until close of business tomorrow 7-31-12, the number of confirmed payments at this time will determine the discount %.

As far as shipping, unfortunately, i do have to charge shipping and the rate will fluctuate depending on loaction. For CA residents i do have to charge sales tax. Sorry , i cant get around these.

i find this bad form.
those 20 expressed interest should pay up.
it's just a few hundred bux. yay or nah, takes 2 seconds.
i am not in the group buy, no horses in the race. i bought mine after the start of this thread and is installed in the car already.

guys, if a member and a sponsor is nice enough to set this up to save a few bux, those who said they want it, should take it.

Gents, note that you cannot use the cover plate to hold down the cables unless you remove your consoles.
The console uses that spot for one of its bolts.

John, relative to the CAE shifter, and kind of relevant here:

Selection cable has the locking tabs to hold it in place, but not so with the shift cable. I was thinking of using a couple of tie-wraps / zip ties to make sure that it stays in place, and doesn't come up out of the slots. Thoughts?

Shifter is in, sans the console (which I think will be challenging), and probably a test drive tonight

Post some pics Francois. I was wanting that shifter bad from John, but I bought his steering wheel instead.

Cup shifter cable went in last week and I am loving it..no going back!

A well known forum sponsor, Carnewal, can offer:

"P96/P97 Cup Shifter Cables Will fit any P96/P97/P86/P87/P87C with manual gearbox.
Includes the parts you attach the cables to the standard or short shifter.
"

for ~$100US less than this "Group Buy" discount....

I'm out!!

I do not know where Carnewal sources their cable(they are in Belgium), i can only assume that when parts are shipped to PMNA they incur duties/taxes and shipping that drive the price up. The Carnewal price is more than $50 less than my cost on this package.

I am purchasing all of these parts from PMNA. At a 13% GB discount I am giving up 90% of my 15% margin, meaning i am making 2% on each transaction in this GB. It simply makes no business sense to to go any deeper than that, there is nothing "weird" going on, as 1GUNNER stated.

I was approached by a member about starting this GB, I worked out the #'s and came back with what i could offer, plain and simple. TRG is not trying to make a "quick buck" as one member seems to think, that is not what we are here for. I cant argue, the Carnewal price is great, i wish i could match it, but losing $50 plus on each order would not go over well at all.

As of now, I will call everyone who has submitted payment in the AM(8-1-12) and see if they would still like to proceed, as everyone who did submit payment knows, i have not processed them yet.

I called everyone on the list this AM, had to leave messages with most. We had one person drop out, one will call me back so right now we are at 9/10.

Regardless of how many members participate I am going to honor a minimum 10% savings.

Thank you for your support on this!!
