Default Sport cats or cat delete: sound question

I want to shed a bit of weight and gain a couple of Hp and get a bit more sound on my 6GT3.
I have maxflo mufflers now and am not sure if I can get away with cat bypass pipes without breaking sound limits at the track.
997 cup cars pass sound and only now and again bust the limit when shifting...you know, that's "crack" noise.
What do you guys think? The sport cats are way more $$...

on a stock system i was measured at 92.9db w/o cats @ laguna in mid-july a few years ago. I didn't get a measurement before I removed them, so I am not sure if they added much sound or not.

The cats do a good amount of noise reduction. Whatever system you do end up getting, make sure it's of this design. Your ears will thank you.

Serge, as opposed to what?
I assume you mean an X or cross of exhaust gasses?

Exactly, it'll give you more of a "997 gt3" sound. Much nicer.

I have cat delete plus maxflo muffs. Won't pass 92db ie ls for sure- got nailed just cruising at sound check at 95 db. Thill sound limit is 103db I pass that. It's 101 db at full song. Mike

chris

i busted the db limit at tremblant with my 4s

i was running cat bypass and stock mufflers, so on a 6gt3, forget about it!!

the car is louder than a stock 4s- stock form

I have Fabspeed cat bypass and Maxflow mufflers and definitely in the mid 90's or higher at full song. I had fabricated bolt on extensions with 4" super traps to get it down to 88 DB.....power definitely suffers with these on
