I've wire brushed mine and painted them satin black.

Cool. What color is your bar? I like the clean, aluminum look for the interior, but painting them Yellow isn't out of the question.

Scott- I think gloss/satin black would go well with black harnesses nice contrast. Don't u think u got enuf yellow : ). Mike

My bar is satin black.
I initially polished the collars because were rather rough looking compared to my glorified fire extinguisher mount.
They ended up looking like tulips in a wheat field, so I roughened them up again and then rattle canned them black to match the bar.
