Default WTB: Schroth GT3 Seat 6-Point Harness

I am looking to purchase 2 Schroth GT3 Seat 6-Point Harnesses for my 2004 GT3 (both passenger side and driver’s side). I would prefer black ones, but will entertain other colors for the right price. Please let me know if anyone has any that they are looking to get rid of. Thanks.

Also what type? There's the Hans type with 2 inch shoulder/lap belt and the regular 3 inch. If u don't have a Hans or the like u should get one. Mike

Default Schroth Belts

I would prefer the smaller 2 inch straps for use with HANS, but im not totally opposed to the 3 inch belts either. I have been told that you can use the 3 inch belts with the HANS device... its just that the staps are a little bunched up? (not sure if this is true)

HANS was designed to use the 3" straps from the start, but the "market" has come up with 2" straps that are easier to use with HANS.

One thing to note though, is if you use your harness without a HANS (like maybe at an autocross or if a friend drives your car), the rules might state that you cannot use 2" shoulder straps alone. 3" may be mandatory (like how it was written in my region a while back). Rules always change, so be sure to see what they are before you buy.

I'm sticking with 3" straps.

Cheers,

I prefer 3 inch straps myself. Be nice if Hans collar was abit wider to accommodate the 3 inch belt(belt cuts into my neck). 2 inch shoulder and lap belt feels/looks wimpy. U should opt for a 3 inch belt for passenger side since not everyone has a Hans. U shouldn't use the 2 inch belt if u don't have a Hans. Mike

Hey Allan wasn't your region says dasport is not allowed as well due to lack of diagonal bar or was that someone else? Mike

Yes, that was my region. This isn't a PCA issue, it's with the local organization that runs solosprint at the local track. Three issues:

- need plates on the floor that are 20 sq in minimum (welded or bolted top & bottom)
- need a diagonal on the main hoop since the rear X brace doesn't originate at the corner of the main hoop
- the two piece design of the DAS bar doesn't meet their requirements for how the pieces bolt together

This is just another example that a person really need to before buying stuff for their car if they have any desire to play in certain events. No matter what I think of their rules, it's my own fault for buying before thinking I might like to play there.

[edit: the DAS bar is fine for regular track days in my area]
