Default What's your ride height?

curious to hear what others are running for ride height and how your car drives at the track.

Why? , well my car has 18 mm of rake in it (108mm /126 mm) and the ride height in the rear bugs me a little, purely from a cosmetic perspective. I see others at the track that appear to have less rake and are plenty fast. Why the rake in my car? That's how it was previously setup and corner balanced so I used that as my starting point. I should note, the car drove beautifully at the track asnis I'm a little worried of changing the height and taking away from the way the car drives.

Other notes. Car has ERP links with bump correction in the rear. Has 15mm of spacers on the arms to combat bump steer at 103/ 121 heights as set previously, I simply raised both ends 5mm. Car can go back down in the rear without major bump issues is what I'm getting at

currently at 98 / 118

My bilstein and HR suspension was designed for a 2,5cm rake, but with 93mm front height and taller rear tires. That was too low for anything but Hockenheim..

Chosing the right rake depends on spring rates, their F/R ratio, tire diameter and ratio, suspension used(droop level) and theoretically it can affect the aero balance; it can also change the weight distribution.

Cup cars run with a larger difference, street cars have to be more compatible with daily driving. Also in the cups and RSRs the suspension is redesigned with different pivot points, arm angles and geometry.

I am happy with this 2cm rake and was also happy with around 15mm before running 102 /117. Now I have a bit more travel when front is unloaded.

Regarding spacers when I measured,at this height, I got better results for bumpsteer without them.

100/120 - never tried anything else, but this works pretty darn well.

Your rear ride height may have been set with the corner balance over & ahead of the aesthetics (remember the form follows the function). I would guess though that a higher rear setting like you state would have probably been because someone was compensating for the corner balance reading.

You can always roll it up on some scales & check it.

GT3's, cup or street like lots rake. I think the 6-cup settings are 85f, 120r which is 25mm of rake for those of you in Rio Linda. It helps offset the light front end and related understeer....

I have stock ride height - how does a different ride height setting affect the handling ? Is it a big deal to change rh ? I guess you have to do everything in one go - alignment, corner balancing and ride height adjust ?

Sounds like the Rake stays then.

Springs are 600/750 right now, likely going to 800/1000 over the winter. I'll have the chance to have the car on scales in a couple of weeks but I"m assuming the weight will pretty much be what they were for the previous owner. I took his exact hieight measurements and just went up 5mm all around to make it a little more street friendly.
