Just when I thought I could put the hoho's on and keep up with the 2 Chris's,
both of these Cheaters turned it up a notch. Chris R with full Mich slicks and Chris M with a cup box and Mich slicks to come (they were sitting in his trailer)
So, what's a guy to do
1. Gut the 993, 75 easy pounds and 75 hard pounds, 150 lbs should put me at 2800 lbs. That and hoho's would make a big difference or,
2. sell the 993 and get a GT3, just hate the selling process......

Oh well, champagne problems ,had a great weekend with you fellows. Will not be at the next event but trying get to the Sept one.

Cheers,
Geoff

Geoff I watched you guys run right before the rain.
Don't jump on the RSR GT3 bandwagon yet!
You looked good out there

Sounds like you need seat time more than you need a new ride. Invest in some coaching. A day of coaching is usually good for as many seconds as 50hp would give you...

Tks Dwane, I was trying real hard that session to keep up with
Chris M and catch that 993GT2.
You should buy my 993, I'll buy Rob's GT3 and Rob can buy a Jim's cupcar.
It all stays in the Rennsport family
Just kidding, if I sold my 993 it would have to be for a GT3. I still remember
in 2004 when Bob, Keith, Paul, Ted etc bought new GT3's, the first time I heard them
on the front straight at Trembalnt it gave me shivers down my back.
I knew then at one point in my life I would have to own one.
Don't know when that'll be, but for sure one day

Cheers,
Geoff

If this is the Rene with a white GT3, he could coach all of us how to go faster......... at least at Tremblant anyways

Chris, your help was incredibly helpful. Marc and I stayed in town for the Monday morning lapping (4 x 30 mins); had to get my fix after Sunday's rain cancellation. The conditions were just perfect. A great way to put all of it together.

Learned a new trick on the weekend, throttle-steer. Calabogie certainly is the place to learn to "lift in the corners". No idea if I was doing it right, but it sure was fun. Especially in the esses before the front straight: on/off, on/off all the way around for max exit speed and being lined up early for WOT.

Figured it out by accident as the car was pushing lots. So in slow corners, lifted to stop the push and bingo, all of a sudden, I'm lined up for the exit

Was pretty amazing considering the mantra of "Don't Lift"...

Also managed to do a few good passes through Temptation: In deep in 3rd, to the apex, down to 2nd, and out.

Yup, shift points were a big challenge for me as well, with my momentum car, you've got to be careful and conserve as much energy as possible. I've got a safety upgrade of my own lined up though

Tremblant, here we come

Francois, you have graduated to the next level when you are ready to learn to throttle steer.

At Calabogie I use I slight lift going into Gilles (T2), Beak and the last right hander in the quarry complex.

We have other tricks for you when you've got that down pat.

Francois,

I know about that safety upgrade, I was at Gianni's this afternoon...... BTW, he's getting my car for a couple of weeks for some different safety upgrades.
