Just run the 235 or 245 and they will remove themselves!

Seriously, you should just run the 225. You'll need the meat out back and a 225 is less than 1/2" less width. You can dial that out with your sway bars or drive it out with trail braking.

I would bet there is only a minimal difference in overall laptimes, and they'll fit.

If you are going to drop sizes, consider the BFG R1, although I think 285 is the largest they make in 18". But perhaps then you could run a square setup and rotate the tires around the car

Looks like I have come to the conclusion that I can stay with the NT01 setup and run the 225/315 setup. To be honest, I didn't even know NT01 had the 225 size until somebody mentioned it. I thought the choices were 235 or 245 so that is good news.

I can't dial anything out with the ARB's as the Turbo doesn't come with adjustable units like the GT3

I trailbrake the crap out of this pig but I can only rotate so far before the computer gets all pissy with me. I turn PSM off before I even leave the hot pits so I can rotate some but if I get to agressive a yaw rate the ABS (and what feels like PSM overriding the "PSM OFF") kick back in and almost violently kick the *** end back around the other direction I just came from

So on a Turbo, the PSM can't be 100% turned off.. i.e., it kicks back in if it exceeded a certain degree of rotation?

yup. PSM OFF doesn't really me OFF. Apparently the couldn't fit "PSM ALMOST OFF" on the button

Maybe this is the next upgrade. Relatively cheap and will make the car a better track beast.

Totally agree that is the next upgrade. Right now though, budget is very tight.

Thanks for the info.. it is interesting..

On my wife's Cayman S.. it was in need of rear tires, so I figured that before I toss the tires, I would take it to autoX (ha!) when she is out of town.. with PSM off, I was able to spin the car.. didn't feel like anything kicked back in.. ?!

On the gas, I think... just over powered the very very bad rear tires and that car came around..

Dell, you need a 35 sidewall up front. 245 . 35 ... or you want to keep the diameter of front under 25.3 inches from my experience. Anything else it will rub the fender linear.... and psm can be disable 100 percent, disconnect the wire for psm unit, its located next to the battery. Their is a diagrahm on renntrack....

old ecsta v700 with v70a compound is a decent auto-x tire. heats up fast and grips well, wear factor 50. on a track it melts pretty fast, on 5-6th lap it gets greacy and makes axle to slip out, at lime rock west band it was not holding me well at merely 0.6g.

good kumhos are V710 tires. they are pretty decent and have various sizes, but, to drive on them 100-200 miles to track will shred them badly.

i had 265/335 setup for auto-x on v70a tires, it was pretty good. now i am on 245/335 RA1 setup for a track. other valid combo would be 275/335 setup with front nitto nt01 and rear 335 RA1 as 305 RA1 do not exist anymore. 245 RA1 are also gone. so if you get 245 NT01 then it is a question what to get into rear, R888 are told to have same compound but no one likes them. go figure.

PS. speaking of R888 tire it is confusing but actually 'right' tire for 12" wide rim is not a 315 tire but a 305 one. 315 is good up to 11.5" rim. I went over this with suppliers i used, it is confusing but apparently is a fact. so 'good' R888 set for 9/12 rims is actually 255/305, not a 255/315. again, go figure.

Quick Reply: Toyo R888 or Yok Advan A048??? Can't run the NT01 anymore :(
