Default Finally! My 6GT3 is here.

Well... as some of you have deduced from my recent postings and transactions, I have come in to posession of a VERY sweet 6GT3.

This all started with an innocent posting on someone's FS thread about how I was tempted to buy their car. I was soon after contacted by someone with interest in my current car, and the rest is history.
My 993 is accounted for, although the final sale and transfer are pending. It will be going to a Toronto 'Lister, BBS RS-GT rims and all.

The search for my 6GT3 took me all over the place. I looked at a few here on RL, with some very interesting cars and offers. There was even a very cool GR Clubsport 6GT3 (radio/AC delete, Motons, etc.), but he was reluctant to sell and the price was out of my range.

I was given some much appreciated advice from some friends here (thanks to CrazyCanuck and ofd) and I finally contacted Mooty who put me in touch with a friend of his who was thinking about selling his 6GT3, as life was getting busy and he hadn't been using it much.
The car is low mileage (17k miles), with nice leather euro GT3 seats, rollbar, fire ext, and the rest is stock. Super clean PPI. A perfect car for me to molest

We came to a mutually pleasing price point and within a week the funds were transferred and the car was on it's way. NorCal to the east coast. I called Reliable and Intercity, but they didn't seem to interested in my business. They both said pick-up in "2-4 weeks" and delivery "2-4 weeks" after that. I don't have that kind of patience. Went with Enclosed Vehicle Transport who used VIP Transport. Great service, always available, picked up within 48hrs and arrived 5 days early.

Since the car arrived a few days early and the paperwork hadn't been at the border for a full 72hrs (calculated to the minute....), I had to store it at a garage south of the border for a few days.
Once I brought the car across the border, it took all of 10 minutes. Having done this three years ago I was prepared. I learned my lesson last time...

I'm at the tail end of the import process which is a bit annoying, but I find most things in life are, so whatever. I did my first "mod", putting together the Daytime Running Light hack described here:
http://www.whiteson.org/boxster/mods/drl/

Enough talk, here are a few crappy iPhone pics. I'll take some more when I get the cup splitter and OE RS wing on

A free (virtual) beer to whoever can tell me what the red car is

Red car, I believe is a Lambo.

Congrats on the GT3. It's a very special day when the car is unloaded for the very first time. I remember mine and could not sleep that night. Took a ton of pictures and still couldn't believe that I actually owned one.

Enjoy her. THey are trully a very special car.

Congrats on the 6GT3, beautiful car, and beautiful color if I dont say so myself

I am not really an Italian car fan, but it looks like a 1976 Lamborghini Urraco P300.

Agreed, I wasn't sure about the color but it's actually pretty damn cool in person. Has a nice effect in the sun.

David M, I'll keep his last name private but he's a friend of Mooty's. In his 50's I believe. He wasn't on the track much at all, hence the sale.
