Have you considered an aftermarket warranty? Some folks spit on them, but personally, I've had good luck using them. Sometimes there is a little push-pull getting things done - but it's been worth it for me. My 5 yr/ 60K warranty was only $3,000, and I've used well over that since I got it. And I still have a few years left.

Is that for the GT3? Also what company is it through?

Yes for a GT3.

AM warranties typically go by miles and not year. Car had 20K when I got it. I've replaced a few things, including front main seal, two coolant line couplers and a few other minor things.

If anyone wants more info, PM and I'll send it over.

Sorry to threadjack: I may be interested in the seats that you have for sale, but I can't access your contact info (I'm new here). Please contact me.

Whilst running at speed on track, when turning right, there was a rhythmic thumping/banging - never felt an LSD do that at speed. Same type of feel, allbeit much slower whilst backing out of the parking spot with front wheels turned to the right. It did not feel normal. Again, at first I thought it was brake pad deposits but I did not feel it when the brakes were applied...softly or with force. Upon my after-track mental summary, there's no way that's a "normal" occurance.
My bet is wheel bearing but I don't know. We'll see.
Ace,

Could be a wheel bearing. They are not too hard to change with the Sir Tool. It has been quite a few years since I changed one on my previous 996, but if you have 2-3 hours of time you can save quite a few $$. I was quite surprised how easily this was accomplished.

The "Sir Tool".... hmmm......
Thanks so much,
TomK

Just checked ou the Sir Tools B90...awesome!!! Not needing to remove the hub will save plenty of time and an alignment. Expensive tool but will pay for itself in a couple of years. Thanks again, Stephen.

Buddy of mine, wrench close to my work, helped me out. It was the RMS.
Very little oil leaking when cold, but when hot the RMS leaked at a good clip.
Should be back on the road by next week.

Be good,
TomK

Super-secret version??? What, a retrofit from Subaru that really seals?...

Man, I wanted to go LWFW so bad but I would've needed to sell the RS wing, but I really do like that thing. Good news was that the clutch is almost new, so no need to replace that.

Limerock bound on June 6th!!!!

BE good,
TomK

Pitty about the LWFW, you can always get it next time

Got my RMS done a month ago and the dealer said they installed the "upgraded" version. Not sure how new this is though and never got a copy of the work order so P/N?

You'll need a B90-P3 and a B90-3J add-on as well. I think I paid around 250, but that has been a while
