Mooty, is the high cost on the cage due to the fact that a different design is needed? Can't just do the same design and then just cut the carpet to fit around it?! ha.. guess that's not gonna fly.. !

Yes, Another stripper in Nor Cal
Since John posted that horrible shot I had to follow here. Just got her home after a test @ Willow Springs last week. Hope to be out on the track soon to learn how to drive this beast. A giant step up from my mildly track prepped C2S 993.
Will surely have to get hooked up w/ you guys soon to play. Going to take it slow and smooth to feel her out better.

Even Eric's photos don't due the car justice. It was supposed to be my car but I chose to stay with my 3.4 for another year since business sucks. In addition to the 997 cup CF front end and roof, the car has the 4:00 R&P, Guard diff, dyno'd at 360, and weighs about 2550 WO/driver. Suck it up boys....

I am envious of you guys.... Really nice work! Part of me is leaning towards moving to a Cup car, and part of me wants to strip my 6GT3 which was "correctly postured" after a frame twist due to a kiss with a tire wall... Seeing one of your cars in person will seal the deal I am sure..
Please keep the pictures and data coming... These threads will no doubt turn into a primer for a winter project!

Nice progress Mike! I'm kinda broke now so I really shouldn't be looking at threads like this.
You don't want a full cage for the street. Great way to get brain damage when some latte sipping, cell phone texting moron decides to T-bone you and your head bounces off the roll bar.

Mike, No worries, I got a few pounds on you.
This was also a mildly damaged (body only) GT3 which made an affordable platform to work from.
I'm glad Dan worked this car down to weight he has since those last 50-100 lbs. get really expensive. I'm about 220 and XL seat is needed.
First day out was @ Willow Springs which I had never driven before in new car so I can't wait to get it to Thunderhill and dial it in some more on a familiar track.
