Default 2003 GT2

Kicking around the purchase of a 2003 GT2. Can current/prior owners chime in with pros and cons? The values seem to have bottomed out. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike

Looking at a completely stock car with 10k miles. Will strictly be a street car, no need to track it as I have another track car.

All I am looking for is ownership experience of people who have lived with a GT2 as their street car. What did you like? What did you dislike? Any issues to be aware of? Do you think that prices have bottomed out? Is low 70's a good price?

Not to trivialize the price but, for that kind of money, and if it is as clean as it sounds, you should get it and find out about the experience for yourself.

Different market of course, but this is what we are looking at here http://www.autotrader.ca/a/PORSCHE/9...0605131227878/

Great car, even at European used car prices.
For street use it only needs a decent alignment.
It's like a GT3 a bit softer and a lot quicker in a straight line.
Power delivery is raw compared to the more elegant 7turbo.
Needs respect considering that its a 2WD no psm car with a bad LSD. : )
I vote buy it asap and never look back.

ps A turbo or Turbo S would be even cheaper and very fast in all weather conditions plus a better daily driver, but it's not the same thing..is it? : )

Yeah but it has PSM and only 320 hp, not to mention a sun roof and 17" wheels

How can these dealers not care enough to proof-read their adds

Power 320 hp (235 kW) at 6,800 rpm
273 lb-ft (370 Nm) at 4,250 rpm
PSM (optional)
Equipment
Features
Rear spoiler (retractable)
17-inch Carrera II wheels
Electric tilt/sliding sunroof

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, 90k vs. 70k is too large of a delta. Love the yellow....

Well, like I said, I'm sure it can be had for less (perhaps b/c its the de-tuned 320 hp version). I think its been up there for a while. I saw it in person and it looks pretty clean.

Unless it was a delta of, lets say 17k for a 2008...

Price point sounds right. A black GT2 recently sold at a local dealer for high 70s. I looked at the car, it looked clean and was <20K miles.
With respect to actual owners commentary, you might have more luck 6speed - there are quite a few that post regularly on the Turbo/GT2 forum.

Good luck.

BTW, here's a decent blog post reviewing the 6GT2 (:http://911nation.com/2010/04/996-gt2...cs-in-waiting/)

(^That 7GT2 looks like a real bargain.)
