Yeah...not gonna happen. Nothing sounds that good.
I've heard a Cayman S with one and its totally nuts but that system was over $7000.

Don't make me sell my house and give carte blanch to Jim! I'll do it! I'm craaaaazzzzyyyyyy! Or maybe I'll sneak in one of those 3.9L motors from sharkwerks...you will be scratching your head when I drive right past ya.
Or maybe I'll bite the bullet and buy a guard. 'How much for one anyway?

The Guard GT3 LSD is about $2750 plus installation, or you can buy a rebuilt one... Matt at GT was saying plenty 6 and 7 owners buy a rebuit older (e.g. 993) lsd from them for a fraction of the price with very good performance.

I say give them car to Jim and let him "tweek" it for a few weeks

I bought the Guard GT2 diff. It's a few bucks more. It has a stronger chromoly case. Figured my car is virtually 100% track so I might as well get the strongest.
There is a credit if you send your stock one back to Guard though. Stock cases can and have split over time which is why I replaced the whole thing.

Autoimport is installing my suspension. Tarrett everything (consulted heavily with Mooty), 800/1000 springs and Motons.

I have not succumbed to PJs advice of gears and a ring and pinion. See how many trailers I sell this year. Hint ... Chris you need one for the Honda store.

Shake & Bake.

Bob,

Do you think I will have a problem with the Europipe Exhaust at LCMT? I am told that there is little difference in sound level between the quiet version and the stock system. The tech info on the Europipe website pegs the sound level at one db from stock.

Crazy Canuk,

I would love to get a trailer but the problem is that i have no place to store it! The store is downtown and there is no parking outside that i can spare (or come back the next to an intact trailer) and inside is a no go, tight ramps.

P.S. this is getting off topic...
I want an exhaust...what can I get that I won't have to remove. Budget is NOT unlimited.

That is the unknown question and why I left mine alone.

Maybe just try the 996 exhaust hack thing....you know, adding the piping from the muffler to bypass part of it.

I contacted Steff at Europipe to ask if they had any sound levels for their 6GT3 system. He wrote "From my experience our 996 GT3 exhaust system is 1 to 4 dB louder than the stock exhaust when measured from behind the rail guard. I don't have specific numbers because what's 85dB on one track can be 90dB on another track. It is still quieter than a stock 997 GT3 though."

So if the maximum sound level at Tremblant is 92 db and the 7GT3 passes then logically, my 6GT3 with the Europipe should be fine.

$2750 (less $500 trade-in) plus install for the GT3 Club LSD, and according to Matt,

"Unless you are trying to squeeze ever last ounce of weight from your car (GT2 LSD is ~ 1lb lighter) it's what the majority of PCA Club racers go with. When you buy our Club LSD you are getting a unit manufactured of all new parts. Everything inside of it is cnc'd from billet, including the body, gears, and ramps."

Chris R, be careful. Though not an issue at Calabogie, Mosport or my short version of Watkins Glen....I did get black flagged once (out of 3 x 2 day DE events I attended) last year at Tremblant for being ".2db" over "for sounding like a GT3 should" with my Sharkwerks center by-pass.

Peter, you have this?

if that's what you have and are just a touch over once in a while, that's not too bad I think.

Yup that's the one
I replaced the center muffler

With Alex's by-pass as a DIY from great instructions on here and Alex!
It still retains stock side mufflers with "sport" exhaust diverters and the stock cats.

You instructed me for a session last year at Tremblant with this set on full open..... and we could still communicate
