Arrow How loud?

How loud is a 997GT3 with the sport button turned on (loud)?
I want to save a couple of pounds on the back of my 6GT3 and get some sound out of it but am afraid of going over sound at the tracks I drive at.
What is about the same (not louder) than a 7GT3 or 7GT3RS? Those pass with the stock exhaust with the sport button on. If it's that loud or less, I'm good!

Thanks

on the 6 with oem headers no cats no mufflers is 110db +

200 cell cats cut about 7db

oem cats -10db

7 with sport on is a bit under 100.

So I think that with 200 cell cats and a small muffler you ll pass.

I have full Fabspeed incl high-flow cats and, as you know, this car (Perry's) was a regular at Tremblant, so obviously no prob.

Here's some inspiration if you need it. Nice low rumble:

Chris how can you be close to the limit with a stock 6GT3? I ran mine the last Club weekend and had no issues and I've never seen anyone get a flag for sound on a stock Gt3. The loudest part is the intake howl...or thats what it sounds like to me.
I was thinking stock headers and cats, Fabspeed supercups and stock tips. It's a small muffler but it's still a muffler.
All of those 6GT3 Cup cars have loud(er) exhausts and seem to pass. I wish someone had them and could attest to them passing...

I was in the tower for some reason and the city guy who monitors the sound told me i was just under the limit.

Chris R - several stock 6GT3s have been busted for sound. Probably a measurement error. On the other hand JF Parent put an aftermarket exhaust on his and was busted immediately.
Headers and race cats fabspeeds, probably an instant black flag. Our cars pass with a thin margin. The 997 GT3/RS has the same sound pressure level as the 6GT3 although the pitch is a bit different. I advise caution, it could be an expensive experiment.

Bob, from what you are saying, my car should be borderline at best, if not outright illegal (full Fabspeed).

But, I'm sure you guys have all seen Perry run at LCMT lots no? How is this possible?

Planning a few weekends in La Belle Province this summer, are they going to kick me out? :-/

You guys are bumming me out. I wanted a 7RS style sound without having to buy one!
Chris, my car is still under warranty so maybe I can pass the lsd at the dealer this time.
So maybe the maxflow mufflers is as far as I should go huh? Alex at fabspeed said if they did not pass sound he would work something out to switch the supercups for maxflows....dunno if it's worth the risk.

Chris, I'm leaving the suspension alone this year (pretty much, apart from the toe arms) to learn to drive it properly and spank those with more moded ones. Next year I'll spank the modded ones with my mildly modded gt3. If you are still not playing nice I'll chase you with the cayman!!

I've been driving mine un-modded for 3 years.

Got the Guard LSD last September. Suspension goes in next week.

You can try to keep up.

Kreis Sieg Valvetronics... the question is how much do you want to spend on an exhaust?
