Tequipment Roll Bar Question
I need some advice from the extremely knowledgeable 6GT3 team here !
I found an original Tequipment roll bar ( I know, I know the Tequipment isn't the best bar out there but I have to go with it for TUV reasons anyway )
On the bar it says "996 Cabrio" with part # being : 996.580.984.00
Will this bar work in my beloved 6GT3 ? On pics it looks exactly like the ones installed in other 996 coupes.
Thanks,
Murat

The 996 coupe bar has part number 996 580 981 00.
The one you bought is for the 996 cabrio.
I think it fits the coupe and must be a bit different / shorter in height to accommodate the soft top.

Thanks guys,
I think I will skip this one and wait for the proper coupe bar ! Problem is that there aren't many of those round for sale. So please let me know if someone is getting rid of his.

He needs one that can pass TuV.
So his options are limited to oem T bar or oem cage or a German made cage with approval.
All of them are easy to find new and harder to find used.

Guys,
the TUV (Technischer Uberwachungsverein !) is a big PITA ! If the TUV technician discovers some parts in your car (and they can be very meticulous - you can't bs them !) which don't have a TUV approval you either have to remove part or loose insurance coverage and permission to drive car on the road. That GMG bar sure looks great but not when my GT3 comes back home with me in couple of years ! The positive thing about TUV is that you know that you are not putting junk in your car if it has their label.

Hi Nordschleifer,
If you're looking to get rid of the 996 cab roll bar, let me know. I would be interested in buying it from you.
Thanks.
