Thanks for the pic Mooty, that certainly is a good price but I prefer the simple lines of the CCW or OZs, so will check those out first. I'll try to get a hold of sfbimmer.

You should just get mooty's wheels and call it a day. These Kinesis wheels were/are one the best design for the 996. If I recall correctly, Bruce Gregory and Mike Kenny each had a set on their GT3. Bruce still has them.

Why spend the money on the CCW when the OZ Allegeritas are of equal quality? I have sold many sets of them for track use and they hold up every bit as well as CCW. 18" is definitely the way to go. Please give me a call if interested.

Damon,

Does OZ have a 9.0 front that will fit ? Are the OZ wheels forged?

They do seem nicely priced if you want to run an 8.5 front.

Cheers

Damon, Patrick, thanks. Hadn't been back here and responded directly.

Interesting point about width though: Stock & Alleggeritas are 8.5" and 11". CCWs are 9" and 12". Does this make a difference?

I use 9 + 11 CCW. I wanted a wheel I could put any set of rubber on and have it be happy. This includes 295 rain tires. 295 rains aren't going to be happy on 12" wheels.

I would suggest sticking with the orig tire size and rim width until you start to know the car more. Once you feel the car is loosing it's stick and you are using the throttle to steer the car a bit, then maybe move up to a bigger tire/rim. It's harder to learn a car with to much tire/rim.
Mooty as an example has lots of experience with a GT3 on the track, so am sure he utilizes the larger rim/tire combo to it's fullest.
For the money the OZ looks like a steal, I might even get a set

Happy New Year

Cheers,
Geoff

FYI, CCW's are available in 11" & 12".
The 12" wheel sports a lip that the 11" wheel doesn't have.

^ Georgetown.

Thanks for the info guys.

Asking about width because sfbimmer's wheels are 9" and 12", which does sound a bit wide and I'm not sure how/if that would affect my tire options Been spending $$ like it's going out of style, so I really want to nail this one.

OZs are absolutely the best value.
CCWs absolutely belong on the 6 GT3.

Thanks again, and Happy New Year to all

Get the 11.5 and you'll have the 1'' lip.

What's this lip, and does it make a difference?

No diff, it's only for looks. I don't like wheels without a lip, unless it's a front wheel.
