My wheels are in pretty good shape no curb rash or nicks. The paint work that was done to them when I took delivery did not hold up to the few track events I did as well as it should have, so I wanted to get them refinished regardless.
The PCr did mention that BMW and Porsche wheels are the worst for removing the factory paint, and he has them stripped via a chemical dip vs sandblasting because the chemical dip removes the paint more quickly and without damaging the aluminum.

Painting gives you a bit more options with color, metallic, etc. More importantly is that if they are track wheels PC will cover up any wheel cracking while paint won't hide it.

I can end up tracking my street wheels based on the climate where I live so I won't ever PC any wheels I use.

I think a gloss black would go great with the RS wing, here is a shot of mine with crest centerpieces.
I've got a great local connection here in MA for the wheel painting. $150-200 a wheel is certainly feasible as mentioned in this thread. Let me know if you decide to go that way.

Yup, gloss is the way to go so the wheel stands OUT against the tire. satin/flat blends right in with the tire which does look great for the track though
