Default 6GT3 vs. Exige S240/S260

Anyone have experience with both cars on track? Just curious as to how they compare. Any BTDTs would be appreciated.

I have a 6GT3 and an Exige S. I have only driven the Lotus on a track, so I can't give a complete direct comparison, but, I think it would be fairly accurate to say that obviously the cars are very different, and the Lotus is probably a lot easier to drive at the limit than the GT3, especially with both in stock trim. Ultimately, the GT3 will be faster, but, it will take a lot of skill to extract the full potential.

I have both a 996 Gt3 and Exige s 240. The gt3 is definitely more demanding to drive on the track. It has a lot more top end. The exige feels almost as quick but easier to manage. You can go through a lot of turns without lifting where in the gt3 you would be off track. When you get it right in the gt3, you feel like a hero. The gt3 has a much better gearbox, I have missed shifts in the exige. It is easier for me to heel toe in the gt3 vs the exige. The brake feel is much better in the gt3. They are both great, that's why I have both. I get a little over 30mpg when just cruising in the exige, which is really good when driving to the track.

exige easier to drive.
brakes are similar, you just need better pads on exige.
when track is very tight, exige will be faster. otherwise, gT3.

Exige very easy to drive quickly. So capable and nimble in the corners I found myself really wanting more power. GT3 much more difficult to drive well, faster, and more satisfying to drive well.

i've driven the cup 260, didn't like it all.
very flimsy
engine is gutless.
unstable at high speeds
too much roll in the corners
zero rear vision
sloppy gearbox
claustrointerior
gt3 is 100 times better car.
the only thing going for exige is cheap running costs due to low weight, but then again, it would probably start falling apart after a year, or you could enjoy a free roger green bbq at your circuit of choice. at least it got built in plumbing.

The only thing I dislike about the Exiges is that supercharger whine. Its ear splitting!

Obviously you haven't been in an Esprit..
The Exige is the epitome of quality in comparison..

And anyway it's an English car so what do you expect? : )

Nope, I bought a real Esprit once because as a teen I liked the Pretty women scenes.
A week later I realized that the fact that Julia couldn't put the gears with the manual stick was not her fault but the car's. Also I understood why Nick almost got Sharon on Basic Instinct with his sedan.

So I sold it and moved on
: )
